I'm in the process of installing the Lipo upgrade kit. And I've got a *really* dump question.
Is it supposed to be hard to get the battery installed? I've got to practically twist the chassis to get the battery installed. I've got a Reedy 4600 (with the tabs trimmed off), and no-way, no-how is that battery going to slip into position. I thought unlinking the center shock would do it, but nope.
What gives? Last thing I want to do is force the battery into the car. Nor do I want to charge with the battery in place....

just refilled the shocks. must have been like.. maybe a drop of oil in there cause none really came out. 20wt side 30wt center a good place to start? i think our carpet track will be a little grippier than the one i raced on last week.
dampers actually feel like they are doing something now.
also, rewired my car. much cleaner than it was for the race, but still have to figure out a better way of keeping the battery. thinking of drilling two new holes behind teh battery and using the secondary link holes with some standoffs and aluminum angle.
freshly wired anything else i can improve on?

Loose the electric tape.
Strap the battery in with RC specific glass fiber tape.
Don't tape over the motor wires.

With the smooth bottom batteries we would shoe-goo drawer/cabinet bumpers on to sit in the chassis' battery recesses. That did a very good job of keeping the battery from sliding, that and learning how to properly tape in a battry.
(Could people please post smaller pictures or attach them, these big screen filling ones are killing my cell phone )

How to mount a LiPo Battery with the bulges on the bottom side, like the LRP 5.800 for example, in the car fitted with the inline conversion, as theses chassis dont have battery slots? Upside down?

pretty sure the only savox is 1250mg. thats what im running. dunno how it feels compared to jr/futaba/airtronics though.
first real race day with the car today. second day racing pancar and second on carpet.
new crc tires started with kit settings but blue center spring silver sides. changed to blue sides and left it for the rest of the night. not sure what else to change, probably have to just drive it for aw hile and get a feel for pancars.
one question though, how do you set droop? do you have to change the spacers in the center shock?

what do you guys do when you "rebuild the diff"?
- lube the diff balls & clean the plates?
anything else?
i doubt the diff balls need replacement at every rebuild.
