There are two orings in the center. The pins are located behind the orings.

61402... Their are 3 pieces to this spool.
1x 61402 is the hub for the drive pully.
2x 67715 are the drive cups.
1x 61667 are the o-rings

You need these to make it work.

There should be 2 holes in the drive pully to put pins in.
Insert the drive axels in the pully.
Insert the pins into the pully and through the drive axels.
The pins are kept in by 2 large black o-rings

It should be preaty simple it you have all the parts.

ok.. well... I'm screwed... after seeing the pictures of what you're describing I'm not going to be able to use this part, a waste of $43, the correct part is only $5 more. I should have checked the HB site first. It'll be a bit before I can get the correct one.

This is what I have:

Well if your just going to run a spool I would suggest you just get the ver. 3 spool.

http://www.hotbodiesonline.com/piw.p...=61086&lang=en

And if you want a little more steering with the ver. 3 spool you can replace the steel outdrives with these POM outdrives.

Thanks for the info. I guess at this point that will be the best way to go. My original idea was to get the part that had multiple configurations to keep the cost down, with the ability to test all of the options.

I'm not sure but, I bought it online and I already put it together... I'm definitely gonna look into that though and weight it out as an option. We have a beginner race on Thursdays and I took first place this week and my lap times are coming down nicely. My biggest issue is the car pushing in the wide turns under power and power out of the tight turns due to the rear differential slipping. The plan was to tighten up the rear differential and drop the spool into the front. A Sway bar may also help to keep the inside wheels down.

I believe the black edition is the oldest cyclone, before the first version with purple alum parts.

The current model is the Cyclone TC. Only comes in Purple. You can get all the parts in black though.

Thanks Arvin,

I'll definitely take you up on that, the next time I'm at THE TRACK, I had a great time the last time I was there running my Slash.

thanks billy, that's pretty much what i came up with from the hot bodies site.
they've discontinued the black aluminum car, just hoping that no major changes were made to chassis layout that would stop me from upgrading to the latest suspension components. from what i've gotten out of the website, if i want to use the latest shock towers i'll have to change the bulk heads. my main concern right now is being able to use the lipo top deck conversion with my chassis...according to the HB website it should fit.
