I would go 48 pitch for the gears since your outside. Since I don't know the gearing [internal] I would start with something around a 36/118....and monitor the temp......if the motor is cooler than 180 deg add a tooth to the pinion til it gets close....most important to monitor temps!!!

Dangerwr: haha It looks like you just came out of the basement carrying your "Alive" Creation. No time to shower or do your hair. You where too busy making your crazy creation lol It looks awesome by the way

This thread is pretty dead. The super Rs4 is pretty much dead. But a solution is coming very soon...... As a winter project I plan on building a custom Shaft Driven Super Sedan. Similar to the Super Rs4. It will have the same dimensions as the Super Rs4. Be looking for more details...I have started designing it. The offical project will be posted as a seperate thread.

I doubt this class will ever be revived but you never know. The car is really stable compared to the regular 1/10th scale. I have it geared as low as physically possible and the thing has to do 65mph+ with the LiPo and Novak 3.5R.

I would like to see the shaft driven version superten mentioned below. The belts are fine on the Super RS4--just hard to find but I have a few!

I will be building a 1/8th scale brushless on-road now that those are an option. I will use the OFNA Ultra platform or their DM-One.

For a "pretty dead thread" it still gets alot of activity......I started this thread in '04......I would post here too, if you in fact make this shaft driven kit you're talking about.

Hi guy

I picked up a new built electric Super RS4 (Gallardo) from a friend who never ran it... when I saw that car I instantly thought mild brushless + 3S lipos Can anyone recommend a "budget" setup? This'll be a "basher" car, as opposed to my real racecar, a cyclone hara.

Another fun project to work on this winter...

Say! If I already had a 3S LiPo I would buy a Castle Creations Mamba Max 6900Kv setup. Not too expensive and is kinda a basher motor & ESC. I saw the post for the Gallardo Super RS4 (Australia, right?) a little while ago. I guess my only advice is that if you go fast you will need parts. The large 199T belt is impossible to find--once you burn that thing up it is on the shelf or out the door with your Super RS4!

I have some extra stuff for this car and know where to find a good deal of the upgrades. Let me know if I can be helpful . . .

I am not sure if they will bring this class back ever but was definitely a good learning experience for me with brushless. I have a few belts, tires and spurs left to get me through until next summer. My plan is to convert a 1/8th scale on-road this winter, probably the OFNA DM-1, and the Super RS4 will be on display .

Man, I have been looking for that purple motor plate for over a year! Sure is looking good. Alright, here is some eBay links to get you started on the purple stuff. GPM makes most of the stuff--not HPI quality but is fully functional. I have some extra purple HPI parts I might part with--off the top of my head I have the purple one-way for the rear and a spur hub.

Here are those links . . .
