i like the tlr 15 carriers and the integy alloy carriers, both work well to provide more steering.I dont really care for the alloy hubs, they are not machined the same as the plastic, the plastic gives a bit so the bearing hold is better and tighter, the alum lets the bearings move a bit unless you wrap them with teflon

I hear ya. The rigid strap can be annoying sometimes. I think someone should consider making a single hole version with a fork on the other end, secured by lock wing nut. That would make it a lot less hassle to separate and exchange the battery while remaining rigid.
Take a look at the troy lee designs battery strap, its got a hinge on one side, and a post with a body clip on the other. I kept the hinge side and used a threaded post with a 2.0 thumb nut. Works great!

Default what kind of battery life should i get....

Hey Guys,
Just finished building a Losi SCTE 2.0.
I bought a Tekin RSX Esc, Tekin pro4 4600 kv motor. I am using a 14 tooth spur.(all I could get at the LHS) I have a 5000 40c 2s venom lipo. This is my first electric. Wondering roughly how long a battery should last? Does gearing effect batt life? I have 2 batterys they both last approx 20 mins. What do you think,is that about average? Does gearing effect batt life?Any suggestions, feedback, criticism.
Thanks in advance,

Gearing will affect battery life. The bigger the gearing change the more effect it will have. Your batteries are fine for bashing but if your going to race the minimum I would go is 6500. Pro 4 trucks and racing are tough on batteries.

Under race conditions most guys will hit lvc in 8 minutes or less with a 5000 battery. And those 40c batteries will probably puff. Like 4s losi said get the highest mah and c batteries you can if racing. Smc are a popular choice.

Yes one has one more tooth!

It is a small change.

I used and liked the 41 tooth MIP gear. It is a little softer material than stock, so it runs a little quieter. The flip side of that is that it will get dinged up a little faster.

The other nice thing about a 41 tooth is that 41 is a prime number. So no matter what size of pinion you use, every tooth on the spur interacts with every tooth on the pinion. This tends to spread out the wear and you don't get 'tight' spots, a damaged tooth, debris, etc. wearing out one particular spot on a gear.

the mip 41 is nice and quiet,it also allows a slightly smaller pinion to be used on a kng hdz mount,a 12 wont work with the stock spur and this mount

Thanks in advance,
RSX??????? given the Amp draw that can happen under racing especially with a 4600 I question your decision on why an RSX vs.Rx8?

Thanks in advance,
The RSX is not rated for nor recommended for the SCTE with a Pro-4 motor.

I don't see how anyone can get 20 min. from a 5000mah pack either. It's not possible unless you are just running half throttle or less most of the time. On a race track you going to get less than 10 minutes. And that's optimistic if your running the truck on a small technical track and managing throttle carefully.

I can see pushing 10 min with a 5000 pack but it is pushing it and depends on a few other factors.

Yeah for sure. My girlfriend and I both drive the same truck at the races, both of us use the same protek 5300 packs on the smaller ones. The way she drives is calm and steady, never really ever hits full throttle since this is her first year starting up. However she still finished 2nd against 7 others in the amateur.
With that being said, I have actually seen her pack still remain close to 60%, while I have had mine as low as 6%. I already knew she would have more left at the end of her heats, but with the ending power levels spanning 50% difference I was shocked at just how much the driving style difference really made in such short runs.

Just received my Ten SCTE 2.0 kit. Opened the box to find the shock oil tube had broken an covered every inch of every component in oil. The body has oil under the protective cover and I cant get it to stop wicking oil at the edges. The decal sheets and other documents are hammered. Anyone ever seen this issue? Best course of action?
