Helps keep the car planted... in either situation.

Both.
I have made an observation though since I run both F1 and WGT-R. The WGT-R is less likely to traction roll on any given track. By rule it is 25g lighter but the bodies raise the cg considerably. I haven't wrapped my head around why this is so yet. The other variations are a different front end (typically less camber gain) and a longer wheelbase.

Anyone have an idea as to why this may be?

WGTR is longer, but most importantly Wider.

Isn't F1 something like 190mm max track width and WGT-R is 200mm?

Yes WGT-R is wider but it also shorter in WB when comparing CRC cars. I haven't measured the difference but it is noticeable. I run the F1 at max track but I run the WGT-R at about 195 rear and 197 front. I vary the rear to suit handling.

WGTR is shorter, 255mm. F1 is longer, 275mm

WGTR is more nimble in the corners, F1 is more stable in the straights. The wider you make the front end of a WGT-R up to the 200mm limit, the less likely it is to traction roll. With an F1 you're limited to a max of 190 all the way around, so you have to try other methods if you start to grip roll. Extra weight on the rear up to a point will give better side bite when the track has lower traction, like our old carpet.

I just realized that I never posted a pic of my BMI WGT-R chassis. It started out 30grams under weight and now has a 3D printed bumper that works nicely.
I will be mounting up a Ford GT and a 200mm Caddie body in the next few days.
This is the one that TQ'd and won it's first time out.

I heard a rumor that he might be working on a 235mm car right now. I love the simplicity of the rear end.

Fenix Racing is pleased to announce that CRC – Calandra Racing Concepts, starting immediately, will distribute their product range in the USA and Canada.

Nice car!

The Ford GT body is almost 20 grams heavier than most WGT-R bodies; so, the BMI car's light weight should help that situation. Wish that Protoform would come out with a lightweight version of the body.

Although it is hard to tell from the picture...Looks like the steering servo should be spaced forward (with spacers) to improve the angle of the steering tie rods going from the servo saver to the steering knuckles.
But...it could just be a perspective issue with the photo.

I've been running the Gen X SE in GTR and I can't wait to feel the difference on the track.
This one is going back to foam tires.
