I agree, and those bigger ones spin too fast IMO.

The one I use spins the screws just a little bit faster than you could by hand. That translates into less stripped out screws!!

I had a little B&D similar to that one. Too slow and the bits wouldn't stay in. They would fall out. I bought the Dewalt. It has variable trigger speed and torq adjustment. It was about a $100, but what is a $100 in this hobby....LOL
It has proven to be worth the money. Plus, it is strong enough to do stuff around the house!

I've used the Black and Decker unit but it died on me 1 month after buying it, not to mention the bits don't stay in it. This is the driver I've been using for the past 1.5 years:
http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?actio...-2A&lpage=none

Variable speed, adjustable clutch, two rechargeable Li Ion batteries and a carrying case. It's a very nice lightweight driver and for what it's worth I've never stripped a screw with it.

Good luck!

thanks for all the responses guys. I just magnetized the 'butts' of my bits and they are staying in just fine. plus now you can insert them with one hand a lot easier.

No doubt, just use one of the screwdriver magnetizers. You can get them pretty cheap at lowes. I had to take the bands off mine in order to get it to fit around the butt of the bits but it worked very well.

I just picked up this beauty at Sears. It's got two speeds, adjustable clutch (in both speeds), auto locking gear when you crank something down, and locking collet plus a 1 year warranty that you can extend for pretty cheap. Works great for my hex drivers for my RC8. I thought the price was pretty fair for the size and a Li-Ion battery.
