which is better for a begginer a decent radio (m11) and servo combo or a set up board and droop\ride heightgauge? ive got about $500 us to spend so a m11 was possible and was also looking at a new high speed servo but i havnt got a set up board or even a ride height gauge so i think i should get some sought of set up system. so hears my question should i upgrade my am radio system or buy a set up system first???
Upgrade the radio, and a good servo. Should have enough for ride hieght gauges.

Donny's right. A get the radio and good servo. You can get a ride height gauge cheap and you can use anything flat for a setup board. Worst case, borrow one at the track for a wile until you have the case to get one. You can't do that with a radio or servo

Servos, you get what you pay for. I like the Airtronics 94755 personally. It's tough and works great.
The Spectrum is definitely not needed. I ran it for a while and liked the convenience, but I just wasn't running well. I talked to a lot of guys (PW included) and decided to switched back to normal 27 band, and immediately my lap times pick up again. I can't explain why. There really didn't seem to be anything wrong with it but I just ran better with the standard stuff.

I just picked up a Futaba PCM radio. I have a few guys running the Spektrum at my track and they love it. I am not sure yet, plus I use a LRP Quantum speedo and have heard bad things about that combo. You can get a used radio, helps if you know the person that has it. M8,3PJS, KO Mars any of those are good and the servos by those companies are good too.

The F-brush was also used to win the 2005 ROAR stock nats.....Like I posted before, the brush had its problems with the 2nd batch. Since then, the brushes have perfromed flawlessly. I think the biggest advantage is the ability to re-run the brush....We all 1 run the brushes at bigger events, but in all honesty the F works as well the 3rd and 4th run as it does the 4th.....
In my experience anyways......
