Doubtful. The current Ca/Dt car is pretty dialed. Get the DT and then pick up the CA 3 gear and you'll have both. Swapping is easy and only takes a few minutes.

Tires are only going to get better, making the laydown a bit more practical.

Hi Randy ,

Does the CA laydown work with the DT shock tower and upper arm mount or do you need to buy the CA ones??

Thanks

You need the CA Gearbox, motormount, idlergear, shocktower, batterystrap, and upper arm mount.

I have broken 1 ballcup and 1 rear arm (head-on crash) on my YZ2, and have been racing it sinds the day it came on the market.

So set of arms and ballcups i guess

The front bulkhead is, along with rear arms, the only thing I've broken more than one of.

I am ordering a YZ-2 DT today. Can someone please post the part numbers to use the "Carpet" laydown tranny? I already have the transmission case set in my cart (YOKZ2-302C3) but I was wondering if anything else is needed. Thanks so much and looking forward to racing this buggy.

You mind listing the part numbers that you used for the laydown conversion you bought? May be in the same boat...

So I'm considering getting back into 2wd Buggy (I've been away from racing for a few years). There's a new indoor track where I live that is described as med-high traction clay/dirt. I've been looking through this thread and found lots of good info but it's still not clear to me how many (if any) additional extras are required to make a YZ-2 DT competitive. It seems like with many of the other buggies there is a lot of additions/hop-ups/kluges required to make them their best. Is the YZ-2 DT any different or could I expect it to be good right out of the box? Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.

Cheers!
