Put my new gear diff in the front on Thursday with 300000 oil and it was great, much better and more predictable than the spool.

I'm thinking of fitting some sway bars to the S1, is this the correct part :-SPEC.R SPR024-RBXR

Which is the best thickness to run ?

Thanks

First day of real testing on our local track. The grip is very low, but we put a lot of soda on the track and the sun was helping, but neither tyres warmer nor tyres sauce...

By the way, I start with my carpet setup... Not so good with a cold track. Immediately change droop values, differential oil, shocks oil and spring, only keep the same ARB!

Despite the fact I'm running a very old tyres set, the car seems fine, the rear is planted, but the front is lazy... Change the front dampers angle is just fine, the car is fast and predictable. I complete a perfect run, but it was the only one, because my tyres are really out!

Time to order new ones and prepare the BBQ for next week-end!

Again, this car is precise and reacts very well to setup changes. Another good point for today, the DualSky 870 gives a huuuuuge boost! Impressive!

The S1 kit includes some of the hardware required for sway bars but you still need a few bits and pieces. I referred to the R1 manual and I used 1.4mm bar up front and 1.2mm in the rear. I had some left over sway bars from my Sakura and used those. I did have to trim the ends on the front sway bar if I remember to make them fit properly.

What did you do for the rear end to be planted? I have tons of steering.

I mainly change the springs and the shocks inclination, use a wide anti-roll bar and 3.5° toe-in.

As all cars the R1 needs a good front-rear balance, could you please specify your actual setup, front and rear? Maybe the problem is not you can't plant the rear, but you can't calm the front...

Actually I think the car is the same, you may have a lot of flex with the composite chassis... If I can help, don't hesitate...

Ok nice to know. By the way I find the chassis flexible enough in the original configuration.

3.5 deg rear toe in is worth a try, I already have a roll bar (from my FGX). Will be testing this next time.

While cleaning my s1 this morning I noticed a crack on the upper deck right on top of the hole. I remembered I had a bad crash last night. well this is my immediate fix until my new upper deck arrives. the pics doesnt do justice to the subject but its there.

Just a small detail about the toe... If you are running "high speed" configurations, as 10.5 boosted or mod, that's worth a try... But don't forget that high toe values are cornerspeed killers, especially on stock classes, as 17.5 or 21.5 blinky...

finally finished building my s1 and went to wcrc yesterday. im really liking the thing even with the kit recommended suspension setup but i can't seem to get the car to center consistently. im not sure if its the steering slop that i've been reading about, the savox 0254 servo im using, or something else?!?

thanks in advance
