With a 6.5 I have tried a 22-23 pin and had higher temps. Went to a 25pin and the temps dropped and man was my car fast. Outdoor medium traction. With a 6.5 I do thinks the 22 range is alittle under geared

Hello. Tell me please, differential gears in this model sintered or machined?

Default Center Diff Help

Hey guys, I have been running the buggy on an outdoor track since I got it in may. 20/100/5. No issues with handling.

I am getting the buggy ready for an Indoor clay track. A few trips to the track and I noticed that on Hard Braking, the front just locks up and the buggy slides. Will dropping the center diff to 60k help with the braking?

Outdoor diffs are the same as my indoor clay setup

7/100/3.

22 pin was over 170

25 pin was 160 at most after 6 minutes.

Interesting, this goes against the recommended gearing. If it works who can argue though.

Torrance or Ty, any thoughts on this?

I keep my break epa at max. Adjust to 75% in your esc and then adjust with ATL only after that. No need to go down in diff fluid.

gearing is a mystery. too far off in either direction can cause a motor to run hot.

The recommended gearing on the first page shows a (23.8) pinion for 6.5, so one would assume to carry a 24T & 25T pinion.

Motor: 6.5 FDR: 10 Pinion: 23.8

I plan on running a 8.5 motor since my first trip in 4w buggy and will probably 24T-26T pinion

That it is. I run a 20/21 with a 5.5 and 21/22 with a 6.5. No heat or speed issues. Maybe I should go up a couple teeth and see what happens.

I run 21t on an Orion 5.5 and it seems to run out of steam on straights. I bought a 22t today to try and suspect I may go as high as 23t. Pleased it's not just me. Car is brilliant by the way.
