I too am glad to see the return of the TC4. I just hope the hobby shops will support it. Nice Camaro Darkside!

I think Team Associated reconize the USVTA class and did their homework. They saw TC3/4 winning in major VTA races and saw the need to re-open the door for the chassis. We had 2 or 3 TC3/4 make the A-main at the Southern Nats which had close to 50 VTA's alone.....Reedy also put the Wolfpack 5000 25c lipo out there as well.

Glad to know that some companys see the potential in helping the USVTA classes grow...

I did this one with Faskolor. Everything is paint at this point. The guy I did it for may add some decals, but that's his call. Headlights will be clear, but I don't believe he's putting in a lighting system.

i love this paint job, and body!!!!!great job!!!!

I recently won a McAllister 1969 Mustang body. I was digging through my spare decals and came across a set of 1/24 Valvoline stockcar decals from Autographics, which inspired my paint scheme. Here is the finished product.

Body:
McAllister #286- 1969 Mustang

Paint: (body was painted with rattle cans)
Pactra RC250 - Outlaw Black (front grill & rear panel by tail lights)
Pactra RC251 - Sprint White
Pactra RC252 - Indy Silver (bumpers/window trim)
Pactra RC254 - Racing Red
Pactra RC265 - Metallic Blue (first coat of blue)
Pactra RC271 - Candy Red (first coat for tail lights)
Pactra RC286 - Brilliant Blue (backing coats of blue)
Model Masters- Big Bad Blue (light blue stripe) - note: this is lacquer based paint

Decals: (The McAllister body does come with window masks/overspray but no decals)
Number Decals - XXX Main decal sheet
Valvoline Decals - Autographics 1/24 scale vinyl (also small contingency decals)
Grill Logo - HPI '66 Mustang grill decal
Racing Fuel cap - HPI '68 Camaro
Large Contingency Decals - HPI '69 Camaro
Goodyear Decals - Autographics Goodyear decal sheet

I wanted to post some observations about the McAllister 1969 Mustang body.

- 1 piece mold
- comes with overspray film
- comes with window masks that you will have to cut out
- come with grill/headlight mask that you will have to cut out
- molded in spoiler
- 200mm width

Overall I was pleased with this body. Here is a quick comparison to the Pegasus Mach Jet:

Window Masks
Yes - McAllister
No - Pegasus

Overspray Film
Yes - McAllister
No - Pegasus

Decals
No - McAllister
No - Pegasus

Spoiler
Yes - McAllister
No - Pegasus (okay, there is a very small spoiler)

Wheelbase
McAllister - 200mm front rear
Pegasus - a bit narrow in rear

After painting the body above, I weighed it on a food scale. It came in at 110grams. I was careful with masking the body to not get any extra paint from overspray. I have not reinforced the body yet, but based on my experience with the Pegasus, this body may not need it.

Only thing I dont care for it is the lack of realism like the HPI bodies have, and like pegasus....seems oversized

B Smith, very nice paint scheme and well done, shows up very well on the track. Thanks for all your help with the tc4.

I still think vta should be at least 21.5, these were big bore V8s with more HP than handling,,,,,muscle a full body car like a muscle car should be.

No, these were fire breathing small blocks with 5.0 liter (305 C.I.) limit. 25.5 is just fine

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE don't start the motor argument again. We don't need to waste three pages of thread

As far as I know, the late '60s-early '70s Trans-Am Series cars - which is what VTA is/was based off of - ran small-block, high-revving 5.0 liter, 302-305 cubic inch motors. No big blocks. They weren't "muscle cars"; those were Chevelles, Novas, GTO's, Chargers, Road Runners, GSX, Cutlass, etc. The Trans-Am cars - Camaro, Mustang, Challenger, Javelins, etc. - were what were known as "pony cars" - just a smaller version of a "muscle car".

I know. I'm bein' *picky* :P But when it comes to this era of machines, yes, I *am* picky...LOL
