Two problems:

One, when my motor arrived the hall effect sensor board was mounted incorrectly such that one of the sensors was twice as far from the rotor as the others and had to be fixed before the motor would run without my ESC throwing an error... no big deal for me as I am a seasoned veteran with a soldering iron but this might have taken a lot out of someone else, so look out for that Team Powers.

And

Is it normal for there to be a little hesitation on the bottom end at full advanced timing? Is this motor not idiot-proof like most motors?

Hi Evan - my 17.5 is pretty odd sounding at the bottom end until I'm rolling... After that, no issues are observed. Motor is super fast..

Thanks Hanulec, I won't worry about it. The motor spools up really strong but I was just concerned about the zero-rpm start in my 1/12 scale. If it runs well I'll run it in Vegas.

I just received my 13.5 Actinium motor from "team-powers.co.uk".

Looking forwards to finding is blinky sweet spot and boosted spot over next month.

Very cool to hear great news about this motor over in the USA. I just might be changing all my cars and buggies over to Actinium motors!

At the Reedy race, in blinky, they were gearing the 13.5 at a 5.4 final...and they were very fast.

Any plans for roar approval for the 21.5 with a 12.5 rotor? Can't run this in usgt events because it's considered to be a tuning rotor. Referring to the actinium.

Thanks for the info. I'm racing outdoors on a large track. I was going to start at 4.0 with "0" timing. I need to look at that track to compare size.

I believe Tamiya is about 130' straightaway. Every setup I've seen is max timing, and I know the motors are efficient and like higher RPMs, so I think 4.0 is probably gonna be a little low. But please do report back your findings.

Hello all,

The 21.5 will be ROAR legal soon. It was not submitted at the same time as our 17.5, `13.5 and mod motors. This was an oversight on my part. The 21.5 is being submitted to ROAR (in transit) and will go through their testing criteria. I have no doubt it will pass.

The 21.5 will be submitted with the 12.5 rotor.

Please run your motor at max timing. The Reedy track is about 100' long. Hope that helps.

Absolutely fabulous motor. Had a chance to run this thing (21.5) this weekend and it is wicked fast and runs about 165 at max timing at a 3.6 FDR. The only thing that hung me up a little bit was installing it into my TC6.2. The rotors flat cut wasn't quite deep enough and I had to take a dremel to it to make it a little bit longer towards the motor. Needed about 1/8th of an inch more to get the pinion (CRC 53T) to line up correctly on the spur (Kimbrough 96T). I am very impressed with the low end and the top end on this thing. Thought my damn tires were gonna spin off the rims

Yes, these motors may require slightly different gearing than some of the others, but once you find it, they are very fast and seem to never stop accelerating.
