THAT certainly clears things up some.
Ok, maybe YOUR car came with 48 pitch, but stock comes with 64. That was HPI's way of differentiating itself from the TC3/4. I have used TC3 parts on my car experimenting, so they are similar in some regards.

Sorry dont know the answer to that, although Pro 4s are meant to have a problem with diff screws coming undone. I've never had the problem but ive only been racing stock and 540 (oh and the HPI Challenge 17t once).

There is an option part
73522 PRO4 DIFF SCREW & HEAVY-DUTY NUT
But i don't know how much this will help with the brushless you are running.

There is no steel or alloy diffs available for the Pro4 that I know of.

It may be available when the Pro5 rolls out next year sometime.

I knew the stock gear was a 98 tooth and I could tell the gear on there was a 48 pitch so I assumed that the stock gear was a 98t/48p. I did get a manual but unfortunately I made the mistake of assuming the gear that was on there was the stock one.

Thanks for the numbers, xxxkat. That should get me the going in the right direction.

.. I have a Yokomo LCG and it SUCKS, If you want your Pro4 to be like an LCG, Take the top deck off it should have about the same amount of flex.. The height of the shaft is about the same as the LCG Yokomos, I have run the LCG in stock only and have found it to be 2 to 3 tenths a lap slower than what I run with my Pro4 in stock.

afew questions regarding torque steer if ya dont mind...;
i here that with torque steer you can get more steering one way more than the other?
Which way would the torque steer effect give more steering on a pro4?
Im still trying to work out if its this or just a weight distribution problem that im getting because im racing with a stock motor on carpet with good grip and i assumed that it wouldnt really affect the car much in these conditions... is it as significant that you could notise when your only going like half stock27turns speeds into corners?
And if so, i here this can be helped by adding more droop to one side of the car... which (also ive been getting mixed opinions on which way more is..., when the wheel is allowed to hang lower?)

cheers for any help

you should not have any torquesteer when running stock motor. it's noticable when running 19t or mod.
if you look at some of Hara's set-ups... you'll notice that the rear droop are different. 5mm on the left and 6mm on the right. this is to minimize torquesteer.
