It was the bottom on the same side, temp was very comfortable 68 deg. Just odd that it happened on the same side 3 times

What conditions would you put the shocks on front of the rear arms?

Danwilson, my local track it pretty high grip dirt. Laydowns and shock on the front of arms are on all cars that have the capability. I built my 6.6 from the get go with the shocks on the front of the arms so I don't know what it feels like on the back side of the arms but we are doing this setup to help carry more corner speed.

I have yet to have this issue. It sounds to me like your talking about the plastic eyelet piece at the end of the shaft. I can't imagine this happening on the front arm. I could see it happening on the rear arm however if you over tighten the screw that mounts the shock to the arm. I did notice once when I snugged mine down that the screw managed to get tight enough to suck my plastic washer into the aluminum eyelet ball.

Is it possible u are turning the eyelet onto the shock shaft and tightening it to the point that the shock shaft is tearing the eyelet. The eyelets don't meet to be tightened in the shaft. They can actually be adjusted to change droop

I will try, but yes it is the eyelet that attaches to the bottom of the shock. It's breaking right above the eye.

Thx for the reply, I think I am tightening too tight and when I put it on the shaft, causing issues..I appreciate your help! I will make some adjustments and see.

Is your track glued together dirt that you run treaded tires on?
The track I'm thinking about trying rear shocks on front of arms is wet clay that we run slicks on I wouldn't call it high grip maybe medium the majority of the time.

We run 4 gear for mod and 3 gear for stock. That seems to be the norm as far as what I've seen. I've seen a couple people try 3 gear laydown in mod and say they didn't like it. The torque of the motor twists the car to the front in 3 gear and un-weights the rear. It's not as pronounced with a stock motor and less drag is beneficial with a stock motor.

Usually we measure form the top edge of the eyelet to the bottom of the shock body to set droop. I believe when I ran that car I ran about 21mm of droop. Check a set up sheet to be sure. U can find setups on petit rc.com
