1/12 T-Bar cars with 1s saddle packs
So I pulled out my serpent s120 this weekend and found that is still fun (of course it is) so i was looking at how i could fit a 1s lipo in it in order to go racing
Of course a standard 1s brick will not fit whatsoever without compromising balance.
There used to be a 1s saddle specifically for 12th scale cars but i cant find them right now.
But what if you take a 2s saddle pack and instead of wiring the two packs in series, you just connect them in parallel?
Then you'd have 3.7V....kinda like a pseudo 1S saddle LiPo.
Anybody tried that before?

Check the size, from what I've read before those 2s packs are much taller which makes fitting the body more difficult. Speedzone is who made the 1s saddle pack before, you might want to check with them and see if they still have any.

That's exactly (not pseudo) what the old Speedzone 1s saddle pack was - 1s2p.
Idk what those numbers stand for, but I'm pretty sure its not the same

Parallel wiring:
Cell 1 Cell2
(+)--------(+) this is your positive
(-)---------(-) this is your negative
This will give you 3.7 volts nominal and 8,000 mAH of capacity. This is 1s2p.
Series wiring of the same cells:
Cell 1
(+)-----------------------------------------This is your positive
(-)-------(+) Positive of cell 2
(-)--------------------------------This is your negative
Cell 2
This will give you 7.4 volts nominal and 4,000 mAH of capacity. This is 2s1p.
The 3P indicates 3 cells in parallel to get the capacity required. It could be a 1p, 2p, 3p etc. The voltage will stay the same.

The S stands for series and the P for parallel. Wiring in series increases the voltage based on the number of cells. Wiring in parallel increases the capacity based on the number of cells.
For example you have 2 single cell LiPos of 3.7 volts nominal and 4,000 mAH each.
Parallel wiring:
Cell 1 Cell2
(+)--------(+) this is your positive
(-)---------(-) this is your negative
This will give you 3.7 volts nominal and 8,000 mAH of capacity. This is 1s2p.

oh I see. So if the 2S saddle pack lipo says: 2x 3.7V 1s3p that means each block consists of 3 batteries in order to get the 5600mah, but each block still has only 3.7V

Yep! Each hard case would contain 3 individual cells wired in parallel for the total capacity. In your case 5,600mah. That means each individual cell inside the case would be 5,600/3 = ~1867mah. You wire two of those together in series to get a 2s3p of 7.4 nominal volts with 5,600 mah of capacity.
