Narrow Tire
Has anyone seen the 30mm wheels and tires GRP is advertising on Neobuggy?

I hope they go away along with the V3. I carry around enough damn tires now. If you wanna custom make a set to give you an edge have at it. Nothing against em just don't need another expense. JMO

Mud= fun, until you have to clean it up. There was a few people running them at the IFMAR this year in the mud and water.

Mud is hell to clean up afterwards and is probably the biggest bearing killer I can think of... Right after snow.
I don't think that all these different sized rims/tyres will be good in the long run. One of the things I love about 1/8 buggy is that you have one uniform size of rim/tyre front and back, and unlike 1/10 buggy, all rims fit all buggies which means less crap to carry.
The market is already nearing the saturation point so unless someone can demonstrate a significant (or at least tangible) advantage to these wider/narrower wheels, they may just end up going the way of the Betamax.

This is what happened to 1:1 oval racing. We have 20 different compound types, 20 different size tires, 20 different patterns........in the end, it just makes the average guy quit racing because he can't keep up with the costs of buying all the different tires. I think this is a bad idea in general. (VARIETY is good YES but there should be a STANDARD). I think the "standard" 1/8 rim should be the only thing legal in ANY series. not just IFMAR or ROAR or EFRA. there are already enough tire treads and tire compounds, we don't need to start chasing rim sizes, and widths. that just adds another extra cost that really shouldn't be involved. FOR INSTANCE: i have a set (4)of Proline Bow-Ties M2 and M3 on "standard" Rims {a total of 8 tires or lets say @ $14 a wheel that's $112}. NOW i need a set (4) of Proline Bow-Ties M2 and M3 on "standard", V2, V3 and 30mm Rims {a total of 32 tires that's $448}. just remember that those numbers are for just ONE type of tire not the different tread patterns let alone all the different manufactures.
Cost is a big thing to me since a a college student (full time) working (full time). not only can tires become very expensive, but they also are a consumable. (most guys at my track don't run a month on the same set of tires). A variety is great, but we are just getting out of hand on this tire types, treads, compounds, sizes, etc. This is just a my soap box and sorry if you don't agree but this is how I see it. i step of my box and go sit down again.

Just because they make a new design or style doesn't mean you have to buy it. Anything new is good for the hobby. What racer need to do is find out what work for them an stick to it. If you choose to spend $400 on tire you have a serious problem
I never think that I get beat because I don't have every tire on the market.... I just get beat by faster guys.... when your fast your just fast, know matter what tire you have.

I love the whiner's...they make it seem like its the end of the world. i think 400$ in tires over a season is reasonable if not on the cheep side....pending on what type of surface you run on. GUYS RACING IS EXPENSIVE...and winning is even MORE.......GET OVER IT>
