Offroad Nitro Engine Tuning Tips.
I know in the onroad section there is an engine forum but hate jumping back and forth.
Was just looking for good tips and/or links to learning about nitro engine tuning.
Example questions I have.
- What's the difference between running 20 and 30% fuel?
- turning this or that needle does what?
- Why do I have to shim the glow plug for different fuel?
nitro for noobs sorry

Do a few searches and you will find a ton of info on this subject.
But for nitro content you are not shimming the plug you are shimming the gap between the top of the piston and the bottom of the head or head button.
most all .21's come setup for 30%.
good luck if you have a specific problem state that and we all can help

Hi guys, anyone of you tune the engine by hearing the sound or follow the engine temp? My engine when I run at straight it run great but when I temp it it already at ~120C. If I rich it and run ~100-110C it run abit sluggish. So which method is good from your opinion. Please advise and thanks.

I have this engine in my 8T and it is a great engine. To get all of what the engine can put out, buy a starter box and back plate. Oh, you'll also need a different engine mount. Change the grease in the diffs to sillicone. Check out the set up sheet on the 8ight for the weight for each diff.
