Thumbs up

Hey guys if you are looking for parts I have two brand new TG10-Mk.2's up for sale again. The guy that wanted lost his job so he couldn't get it, so it's available. I took the shock, bearings and the screws out of both sets to use for my other RC cars. If you have any of that stuff in your pit box you can have your self TWO new cars. Let me know if anyone is interested and I'll post some pix. I'm asking $100.00 for both shipped in the lower 48 states US.

Thanks Tiko

Post those pics when you get the chance. That may spark more interest, especially since getting parts for this car will soon be hard since the car is not being manufactured (I think but not sure).

Hi all,

I just got a build but unrunned TG10 MK2 for a very good deal on ebay $65 it needs radio, engine and pipe and body shell it comes with 2 team associated servos are these servos any good or should i look for better servos?

This is my first rc car but have been flying rc aerobatics planes for 16 years i want to start racing in Touring races and need some help on some equipment selection.

What engine and pipe combination would be a good choice for me,remember i`m a newby here soo i assume i wouldn`t need a top class engine right now? Just a good reliable and competitive engine don`t want to spend like $380 on an engine at the moment.

Where can i find the touring body shells for this car? and which should i use?.

I`m getting a good deal on a Spektrum DX3S with 3300T Telementry recievers is this a good radio combo for this car?.

And last but not least can you guys tell me where can i get parts for this car?

Any sugestions would be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Greg.

Servos: Don't know the reputation for associated servos. For steering you need a high torque / high speed. Throttle not that important.

Just a good reliable and competitive engine don`t want to spend like $380 on an engine at the moment.

Good reliable and competitive for reasonable price:

1. Picco P1R Evo 4 (most bang for your buck!) This site has great service too

2. Max Fantini 12 RR3 (its a Novarossi)

http://ashfordhobby.com/detail.aspx?ID=7168

3. O.S. 12XZ (old reliable, does not last as long as the Italians)

Bodies: http://www.hpiracing.com/hpibodies/200mm/

Or any 200 mm body.

This car is discontinued. Tamiyausa still has 98% of the parts in stock. There are a lot of Ebay stores that offer parts for the car as well.

Ebay stores: Sausage Dog, Hobby Japan, Vellrip, Jason's store

Only part that is discontinued is the rear upright.. but you can use the ones off of the Kyosho FW05RR if need be. Even the rear arms off the kyosho will work.

You can also pick up a spare car for $125 here:

Wow Raman,

Thank you very much for your help i couldn`t ask for more you got me on the right track.

Thanks again for your detailed posts and links very much appreciated..!!.

It`s nice to hear that Tamiya USA has the parts still for the car big relief.

Is this car competitive yet even being an old design?.

I assume it still comes down to driving skill more than anything else.

What do you think of the Spektrum DX3S?.

I`m a Futaba guy and was looking at the Futaba 3PM-X 2.4GHZ.

Whitch of these would be a better radio if i decide to race later in the 1/8th class?.

Thanks

I think in the right hands it still is very competitive.

I use a Futaba 3PKS. Either radio that you mentioned will work on 1/8 scale and even 1/5 scale which requires channel mixing.

I personally have no experience with Spektrum radios.

It is weird that Tamiya is re-releasing the car without making any changes/improvements. But, at least that means that parts will still be manufactured and available.

My guess is that they had plenty of parts left over and since it never really took off, they figured what the hell, lets see if we can squeeze some sales out of it...

From the looks of the kit, they're gearing it to entry level nitro users, that would be in the market for a kyosho fazer, hpi nitro rs4. Tyres look a bit like drift tyres.. so maybe that's what they're going for.

I read they updated the battery tray slot so it can run a LiFe receiver batts.

I run mine frequently (though with a 4 stroke in it) lol. Its a solid chassis.. only improvement I'd request would be for better material on the arms.. they're a bit brittle, and some carbon front and rear shock tower.

Hi

Just wanted to drop in say hello as i am now proud owner of Tg10 Mk2 kit, I should receive it later this week.

I have driven alot of cars over the years, but my best cars have always been shaft drives like my AE NTC3 and my Kyosho FW05-R... so am looking forward to the TG10!

Thanks
Andrew
