Wow...thanks for quick response!
I have experience running 1/12th scale having had a 12R5 and a Copperhead 12 previously. I guess I'm just a little burned out with all the minute adjustments and tire "voodoo" that seems to go with 1/12th and I was hoping the RM-01 might be a kind of 1/12th scale version of a Tamiya Mini where you just charge the battery, throw it on the track and have fun driving a realistic looking car! I certainly wouldn't expect to WIN anything with it and as long as I'm not a moving chicane for everyone else I think it'd be fun!
Thanks for your insight!
Cheers,
Mike

Well...
That kind of depends on a few things.
For starters, my R5 is definitely faster on a high grip track, it has a stiff chassis, and many adjustments, if you have experience with that kind of car there will be a certain advantage, make no mistake about that.
However, if the grip is lower, the track bumpier, the driver new to 12th scale....The RM-01 will be as easy as possible to get around at a decent pace.
17.5 boosted would be fine.
I plan on racing this car outdoors on a low to med grip track this spring, and as with the original Racing Master car from years passed, it should be fun, and in the hunt

Fun to build, fun to drive, and scale appearance, are a given with most of the Tamiya kits.

When I saw it run with even HUGE tires it looked really stable and easy to drive
A definite modern retro
That old time good feeling with the new tech

Is it a Li-Fe battery?
I've ordered me a 6,6v 1100Mh Li-Fe battery from tamiya, just to test it with a 1/18 brushless set.
But i also have a 1cell battery and ESC on the way that i perhaps could use for another 1/12Th chassis.

it is a 2s lipo 1300, the size is like the Tamiya Li-fe!
2s 1500 lipo will fit into the original chassis holder, too. i try.
which motor are you going to use? 1/18 brushless set? be sure that the esc ist made for 370 /380 motor. some say to 300 size 380, too.

Do you perhaps have a link to that kind of batteries you have mentioned?

Just a few decals need to be applied and my body/chassis is ready for use.
I was waiting for my electronics and my esc was delivered today but unfortunately they did send me the wrong esc
Planning on driving the car this wknd, it just won't happen now
Maybe i can come up with something so i still can test the car, cause today i also received the Li-Fe medium battery from tamiya.
I'l just have to think it over.

The hole, and slot are there already.
Just use one of the extra small screws provided in the kit.
Thread the screw in just enough to contact the edge of the slot.
Too tight and it will bind the shock.
So when are you going to bring the new toy to TQ for a shakedown

Do the kit tires work out at Aliso's asphalt or do I need some Jacos?
Thanks
