The 15th already comes loaded with hop-ups, so not much need for upgrades. Spare parts will mostly be for the front-end suspension, as it will adsorb most of the impact. And I would suggest going with the soft T-plat.

Thanks for the link to tamiya america but they wont sell to me as im not in america.Im in New Zealand.Anywhere else I could get them or a way of getting around this.

i got and have seen several floating arond ebay...just do a search for F103 bodies in both the listings and stores and you should find a couple..dinball (in HK) and stellahobbies usually have them instock

Has anyone come up with a way to adjust the front ride height as your tires get smaller? After two weekends of racing my fronts are at 55MM and 4.5MM ride height I belive they where 57MM when new. So two more weekends and the front will be 3MM or less (3 is about as low as I would run). In 12th scale we were able to get manchined uprghts to increase the ride height, anyone tried that with the Tamiya pieces? Thanks for any advice. Its a miracle I havent chuncked a tire yet

hey bill, you should have asked me saturday at speedworld, I could show you my car

we grind down the steering knuckle 1mm then use .25 and .5 (totaling 1mm)shims to adjust ride height by moving the shims above or below the knuckle

Can you guys shed some light on the differences between the F103 standard, F103 15th anniv.and the F104 as far as handling and driveability? From what I have read so far, the F103 15th is the one to go with and thus I have. However I have some buddy's who want one, and they are having a tough time finding a 15th......What should they go with?????

The one thing I dislike about the 104 is the battery placement. The car is LiPo friendly, but you'er limited to what LiPos you can use because of the top deck. You'de either have to find the right LiPo, or modify the top deck. On the track the 103 are so much faster. I'm no expert driver, but all the top 103 drivers were lapping me, and I was lapping all the 104 drivers.

Around here everyone wants the 103rm, the 15th Anny is too stiff for anything besides carpet. Downside is the stock rm takes some upgrades where the 15th Anny needs downgrades, but those downgrades are not manufactured anymore.

Rock and a hard place I suppose.

Actually, the rm is probably fine for carpet unless you are consistently racing at very high traction (black groove) events. Low/med traction carpet really calls for the fiberglass parts, and it also helps to calm the reaction down.

As far as availablity, there are old 103 chassis on ebay all the time that go for a song, especially if you are just looking to get the chassis parts and a few spares.

Hello all,

I have a few questions:

What is the part # for the soft t-bar?

Is it recommended to grease the thrust bearing? I didn't see anything about doing this in the 15th anniv. manual....I feel compelled to use something on it being that every other thrust I've seen gets greased.

What grease is recommended?

lastly, I noticed that the thrust assembly is somewhat exposed to the elements of the track thru the spoked tamiya wheel. Anyone come up with a nifty idea to seal it off while maintaining diff adjustability?
