Default Racing Saturday

Not going to be able to make it by, need to drive the family as no one else will drive on the Texas roadways. Way to much construction.

Baseman, will have to catch up with you maybe in Vegas. Thanks for the offer.

What do you guys like running at your local tracks from Sweep, the full slicks or treaded tires?

what insert are you running?

Air temp was 65 mostly sunny here in toledo

I tried a set of 45s, dished wheels. pre mounted.
Result, not good, pushed and was overly lose.

Now i know sweeps work well at our track I have seen what looks like sweep 45 or 50 exps, or even 45-50 slicks from the end of last summer.

They are mounted on non sweep wheels with a different insert, this insert was low profile a little softer and had a air gap in the tire.

This car worked well and was able to TQ our club race with a time of
19 laps 8:13.7 (electric GT class)
on pre mounted 45 exps the best i could do was
18 laps 8:10+

On a different set of tires I had with me I ran
19 laps 8:14.4 or so

I was told the guy might be running a cut down blue insert.
any ideas?

Thanks for any help, I would like to have a set of sweeps that work like his, better yet a set of tires that work out of the package, if it comes down to it ill make up the custom tire foam combo.

Like I said thanks for any help.
(this is toledo GLC track for anyone that might have raced here on sweeps that follows this thread)

Track prep is pop syrup and water this year so far.

Just got back from the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Temps in the mid 70s and a bit windy at times. I ran the only 14 lap run in GT to sit on the pole and won the main running EXP 50 slicks. Sweep tires swept the podium. All but one car in the A-main were on Sweep tires. Thanks John and everyone at Sweep for your dedication to providing the best racing tires in the world.

Nice job Gus

Guess the question now is who was wearing "the shirt"

Sweep is picking up where it left off last season, on Top...

Maybe Andy will make it next time to give you a Sweep tire "Rub"

Dont forget the rules,

The Vegas rules are #1. Race your car and smile a bunch. #2 Refer to #1

No one has any answers

Every one here just uses the sweep's out of the package or do you mount your own?

Custom mounted sweeps are worth about 1 second per lap over out of the package sweeps here in toledo.

I was curious as to what inserts you guys might have tried that worked well in the tire with a air gap.

Don't worry about custom mounted tires Pete, you have to know how to glue tires first.
