John,
No doubt, we've not even begun to explore the potential in this chassis. It is deceptively tunable. I think most of the race research is happening a little south of here
Vue and I are mindful to rotate left to right and it's all good for fun. low maintenance. club racing.

So I have been very busy and thus absent from the discussions around this car and the powertrain choices for them.
I have an idea and it may not be a good one but its an idea.
To me the appeal of Lemans racing prototypes is the variety of chassis and power trains that are competing.
My idea is that in the spirit of LeMans you allow multiple powertrain configurations.
I would allow 25.5, 21.5 2S blinky. OR 17.5, 13.5 1S blinky.
I realize there are major speed differences between them, and in the end this might cause for a huge mess. However I think if you change up the racing format and have a UF1 style qualifying system you could run a 15 or 20 minute main, or run a certain number of laps for the main, this would dictate running a pace instead of an all out sprint. Also the track will have a limitation based on grip and layout. Its just an idea, might make for some very interesting racing.
I still have a good stock of cars, spares, and bodies. I am low on some of the hop ups , but I will be getting more.

Oh, and the new Audi R18 Generation 4 is going to be released today in case anybody is about to paint a body (me).
Here is a teaser, I don't know if this will be the final livery tho.

I think the idea of multiple speeds is cool for the LM1's but I would rather see these LM1 style cars have a fixed motor limit and then run with maybe WGT cars and/or USGT cars.
I think the idea of the UF1 style event would be perfect for this.
Let the LM1 and USGT cars qualify with 21.5's and let the fast USGT drivers mix it up with the slower LM1 drivers. That would make a perfect Le-Mans series. I would think WGT could get into the mix but they are pretty quick. Maybe bump them down to a 17.5 1S and they could run too.
Lets get MORE cars per class to race with instead of another non-traditional spec class that only 3-5 people race. Nobody likes racing against 5 cars every week, lets race against 20-25!

Personally Id rather have the LMP/LMPC LM1 cars running on their own and then run the WGT and USGT cars run by themselves. I think the LM1 cars are good enough that if you get 3 or 4 guys running laps with them in between rounds during club races, they can sell themselves enough that people will want to pick up a car and give it a shot as a second class, or as a first class that won't break the bank. If I were to update the rules I suggested a few pages ago, Id go with something like this for a baseline ruleset:
LMP Class
Chassis: any F1 style chassis (including LM1)
Motor: 17.5 (Open)
Battery 2S 7.44v
Body: Speed Passion LM-A
ESC: Open
Tire: Open
Drive Ratio: 26/72
Minimum Weight: 1200g (that's grams for those who aren't sure)
Minimum Ride Height: 6mm
LM1 (or LMPC)
Chassis: Speed Passion LM1 only
Motor: 21.5
Battery 2S 7.44v
Body: Speed Passion LM-A
ESC: Blinky/Sportsman
Tire: Kit Foam (No truing of tires)
Drive Ratio: 26/72
Minimum Weight 1200g
Minimum Ride Height: 6mm
