Depends on YOUR track. Carpet or asphalt (tarmac)? Low grip or high grip?

I'm still using the kit stock springs and shock oil and it works for me on carpet and on asphalt.

I would try hpi silvers front and rear as a starting point.

I have HPI silver, and for complement? (may be one harder like ride purple and one softer like ride blue or green or silver?) I don't want to buy all the range.

you might want to get the new center motormount too
Thanks. SpecR had the stuff in stock. Car was pretty good last year and gradually got better. Hopefully it continues to do so with the pro upgrades.

If the track is not too bumpy, then the stock springs are a good place to start, go 3 hole pistons and 300cst tune with springs from there depending on how well the car is riding the bumps. Also if its bumpy, you can be spring more if the bumps are hollows rather than jumps. I run in the same class on a similar grip very bumpy track on foams, I went down 1 spring rate on the front and 2 on the rear, with anti roll bars 4 on the front and 3 on the rear.

Seriously guys how could you answer this question without knowing the type of tire he uses?

Depending on the tire, you will obviously need different shocks configuration... Even between Ride REX34 and Ride R36, that's totally different...

I upgraded the chassis and top deck on my S1 to the new pro version carbon. Ran a pb 18 seconds faster over the 5mins than the best i had managed on the S1. That is 1 second off being 2 laps faster than i was previously. Let me just say that i am stoked. The car was just so much more planted and dialed.

We run 10.5 on foams on a med-low grip nitro track which is very bumpy. R1 Pro Spec, just went on order and this car will become the kids car

After much research I think I am going to join the Spec R club.
Am I allowed to ask, -what is a good vendor to get the Spec R (pro spec) from? I notice that the shipping is $70 off of the official website (ships from Hong Kong to US). $70 shipping is waaay too much and kind of kills the great $315 list price. Is there a US vendor that you all recommend?

You didn't read the whole thread did you?

TQ RC Racing. They're in Chino CA. Never done wrong by me.

I got my last shipment from CA to IN in TWO days! Standard USPS shipping.

Note that MOST places that you get Spec-R parts from are in HONG KONG. Nothing wrong with that. But it tends to take a lot longer AND you have to sign for International packages (from most vendors).

Tq is a great vendor for outside the us too. I get my stuff from them in a week, with seemingly flat rate shipping for parts. Car kit might be different.
