The only difference is the height of the small gears.
Cut the flat side of small Spec R gears to reach 4.20mm overal height.

We will get you dialed in. Good news, I now have over 1000+ laps with this car and have broken only two things; turnbuckle and upper ball end.

Sorry I should have mentioned that the smaller carbon gears need to be sanded down to Size as are the kit Spec R gears.

Another win for Awesomatix in Open at an event today with myself winning. The car has a few people scratching their heads

Very nice run. Hard to keep it together like that.

Good to read your updates on the car Mark. Sounds like you're doing well with it.

17.5 non-boosted is our big class.
This is my concern with this car, we all run either 10.5 or 13.5 boosted here in the uk, 17.5 non boosted is just too slow!! With an xray, nothing breaks even in the boosted classes (i've broke 1 item in the last 6 months), yet you have broke 2 items in non boosted class already.

I can also see where you'd benefit in the non-boosted classes due to more effeciency on the drive train, making the car a bit quicker, yet, we're not really after the extra straight line speed, we want more speed round/through the corners, not really sure how much better this will than an xray?

quick question though.....how do you stop yourself falling asleep in 17.5t blinky mode?? Before I get ripped.....that was a joke!!

Breakage is relative to experience, track configuration, surface and car. I am sure if I ran a Traxxas on wood with padded walls I wouldnt break a thing

My early bet, shaft cars will make a come back. If Xray dusted off their shaft car design I am sure it would every bit the car as the A700. For that, every car released will have the A700 as a basis for comparison.

Shaft vs.belt. There are a lot of threads on RCTech that you can read and challenge yourself to win 'internet' debates with. I feel shaft drive has better acceleration, corner speed and efficiency.

17.5 non-boosted is where the competition and numbers are. From our top nationals and club events - they are deep with talent and attendance. The alternative of course is to run 17.5 boosted and modified (all else). <insert boosted is dead here>.

As soon as my second car shows - I'll be ready to run boosted or mod provided that enough racers show. It is all a numbers game.

This is how I see it..I run an Xray..and its a hard act to follow. I'm going to be honest. The A700 is nowhere near as robust. But then again no other car is. Is it faster than the Xray? I believe so, but this is not the car for the inexperienced or even average driver. However for the committed, die hard racer, this is something you simply must experience. It is the highest level. Amazing.
