Hi guys. I asked a question on this form. It was what I would need to make my MBX-5 in to a MBX-5R the list was great. I thanked him for getting back . But when I add it up $420.39 r all those parts necessary. That's almost the price of a new buggy. Any help would be appreciated

It's been mentioned a few times that if you want to have a full blown 5R, it's more cost effective to buy a new 5R buggy. Having never run anything but a 5R, I cant say what parts are really needed over the Pro Spec. But I you really want the 5R, I'd just get a 5R, then you've got a whole new car. Not just a bunch of new parts on an old car.

Hi, I have a brand-new MBX-5 in the box. For the past two years haven't gotten around to put it together. I've been oval racing. And now before I put it together I wanted to know what part I would need to make it MBX-5R I saw a less and it's over $400. I was wondering if there is aftermarket that would bring the truck up to MBX-5R . Thank you

I think better get a new 5R if you have enough fund and use your Prospec as a spare part for your 5R. As I know some of the Prospec part can be use in 5R.....Just my 2 cent advise.

I heard from Kris Moore that the difference between a 5r and a 5 is that there is more webbing in the parts of a 5r. I believe that more webbing would make the parts stronger? Correct if wrong!!!! just my .o2 cents

the r is a better rough track car than the prospec by far. the car as a whole has more steering than a prospec, more suspension, more droop (you have to mod the chassis to get drop on a prospec) and it looks like the components are shifted slightly on an r chassis by a couple mm. on a flat not blown out track with jumps that are smooth the cars wouldnt be too different get to a blown out or bumpy track the R wont flip as bad. i have both cars set up alot alike and the times with the prospec are about a lap slower due to it not being able to go through the rough without ending up on its top. so you cant drive them the same. both cars are still competitive just that if you go from prospec to R you will like it but if you go from an R to a prospec your driving will have to change

Anyone used these clutch shoes yet? http://www.carolinasrc.com/Webstore/...idproduct=3045
But in my Matrix Truggy I run the Dynamite shoes with Mugen 1.0 springs and think they work fantastic.

First off, is your kit a standard MBX5 kit or the ProSpec kit?
