I can't believe this thread is still active for this car. I am glad to see people are still running it and have not given up on it. I would love to run mine, but have no place locally to do so.
To the people above asking about spur gears, if you can locate a PRS adapter that will allow you way more choices for gearing then the stock spurs. Another thing I remember doing was actually not using the spur gear shaft that came with the R and using the one from the original car. I had some issues with the R ones flexing enough to be able to strip spurs. The JRXS shaft prevented this from happening anymore.

I still have four complete chassis's as well as a bag full of packaged parts and a few plastic storage containers with parts in them. Are parts still being made for this car anymore?

To my knowledge Losi is still making parts. I've gone through a fair share in the past year since I started racing and Amain seems to always have what I need. This car seems to be quite popular in the VTA crowd and honestly probably isn't off the mark in the right hands in TC either. At least that's the impression I've gotten from othersthe since I started.

Default A few quick questions...

1) Do the same suspensions arms / knuckles / c-hubs interchange between the standard and "R" type?

2) Do xxx-s knuckles / c-hubs work with the JRXS ???

3) Are the Diff pulleys on all these cars the same?

I still have a Xxx-s and lots of spares. Getting a jrxs / type r would make a lot of sense for me if these parts interchange.... been looking for something used & cheap. Will make one of these cars my VTA ride if I find a good one.

The front and rear hubs are the same between the JRX and XXX-s. The arms are different.
I am not sure about the diff sprockets.
A side note: the Associated TC3 "C" hubs also fit with a little grinding for the half shaft.

Thanks, I know the arms are different, but I have lots of the other parts. So nothing changes between the standard jrxs and the R as for as arms / suspension & steering pieces?.

Think I need another Losi soon...

The arms on all three cars are different. the c's and hubs and nuckles are allthe same. diff pullies are thr same on xxxs and jrxs, different on type r. belts are all diff. cvds might swap between xxxs and jrxs, type r is different. spurs will swap from jrxs and type r, thats all i can think of at the moment. I have/had all three cars so it is easy to compare. Need another xxxs to be comeplete.

I really like this car. I now have another one on the way. I have a Max amp 6000mah lipo in my losi with a novak GTB and 13.5 motor. My issue was that is was too lite and I added weight to the car. The car is smooth and well balanced.

One thing I've done recently is shim the front suspension. There is a bit of for/aft slop I wanted to get rid of. An extra thin shim (not the WB shims) somewhere along the lower arm pivot and also a thin shim at the lower c-hub pivot. The c-hub may need to be sanded ever so slightly so it doesn't bind but both of my JRXR's are slopless and smooth now. I used plastic shims that measure about .025.

I could use some shims for my suspension. And what gears should I run if I am running a 17.5 motor?

Thanks, think that about answers my questions. Good that a few crucial parts all interchange, will make finding spares fairly easy (and I've already got like a 5 year supply of those ). Now to find one...

I'm running a Ballistic right now. I'm not really sure how it stacks up against other motors since my setup and driving skills are not yet in need of competitive power. I'm not exactly running a competitive pack either.
