Hey guys,
I took my car from the little carpet track to my big carpet track-and although I didnt race Sedan SUnday-I did run a couple packs through it throughout the day. Both with a MOnster stocker and again with a Reedy Ti 9 turn and it was handling very well. I had too small of tires in MOd to give it a fair shake-but it felt like with bigger tires-it would be flat out awesome!!!! It was ripppin' fast though!!!

I raced at the Kingston Indoor Championship 2003 this past weekend. I had a good time with my Evolution III. I got it going really well by the mains, but sadly, I wasn't able to place very high in qualifying.
Martin Crisp with his Evo III was there and showed how it was done in mod. He TQ'd and won mod sedan, he was very, very fast.
All in all it was a great race, and the Evo III represented.

Difuser - Derek was not there. He came to the Ottawa Touring Car Championship race last year, and if he comes again this year, I'll check in with him and see what he is or isn't running.
PS: If anyone wants to check out a great race, come to the Ottawa Touring Car Championship April 4-6! Its a three day affair, and always lots of fun. Check it out at http://www.nwsca.com/scripts/rc_foru...asp?FORUM_ID=9

Difuser, what is your set-up for a smooth concrete track with rubber tires? I need a more aggressive turn -in especially when using a ball diff up front. None of the one way fixes posted here seems to work for us here in the Philippines. I run stock and 11t mod. Thanks.

Garry, yes I have had diff problems already. I've only ran the car for one race day. And that was racing Mod with a 10x2 Ti. The front diff gear was slightyly stripped, and the back rear shaft pinion was slightly stripped. I'm working on using the old stripping diff gear, cutting it down and using it as a brace for the new diff gear. Plus I'm working on shimming up the shaft/pinion. Looks like I'll need to order some aftermarket diff gears after the TCS race. Anyone know of any I can get now? Thanks....

I just sent an e-mail to a couple Tamiya Racers and Tamiya dealers asking them for those exact changes as on Surikarn's car. My opinions on the car are:
1. Thicker top plate or chassis or both, but heavily milled to save weight.
2. Diff cases made out of Hard Material.
3. Bukhead to tie shock towers into chassis for added stiffness and consistent handling (Maybe hard material for diff cases will be enough).
4. Redesign of front gear and shims included in kits to shim crown gear.
5. Wider front bumper for racing indoors.

Well, I wouldn’t exactly call those pictures the best spy shots I’ve ever seen, but they do reveal a few interesting facts.
Front and rear shock towers differ from the stock design. I don’t think they are and thicker than the stock ones, but perhaps the material used is stiffer.
The chassis is probably thicker than stock, probably around 3mm thick and stiff.
I think he is using the stock top deck.
The diff parts are white instead of black.
Lots of red anodizing.
That’s about all I get from those pictures. Bigger, more detailed pictures would be nice.
