motor question
I was looking at all the pictures on the HB website, looks like Tessman is running an Orion motor, I'm not familiar with 1/10 motors, can someone tell me what turn motor that is. I'm used to 1/8 buggy and truggy setups, 540 motors don't compute. LOL I do have some 550 motors for sct 4x4, will they work or are they too powerful?

Thanks for the info! I looked that up and it's 6550kv, that is fast. No wonder they were running a cooling fan. Love all the pics on their site, that's one sweet buggy. I've never raced any thing other than 1/8 before last year so this is new to me. Hard to believe how fast they are. I'm looking forward to November, two kits please. One more question, I run mainly Castle in my 1/8 truggy and tekin in my 1/8 buggy and sct410. I know now what Ty runs, what are you guys planning on using???? I could pull the Tekin hd 4300 out of my sct410 and put one of these into orbit, yea right, maybe! LOL

Ty runs orion motor and speedo.
a 5.5 is really fast!
I ran a 6.5 turned down in my b44 and it was still crazy

Ty was running a 5.5 but you have to consider the size of the track. Traction too. You don't want wheel spin. He geared high with the 5.5 orion. For the worlds Neumann tried both orion 5.5 and 6.5; he ended up using 6.5. Hopefully orion will make a 6.0 for those times you can't make up your mind, but most 1/10 electric tracks aren't that big or have sugar so 6.5 is best choice for most tracks

Currently running a 6.5 and I love it in my wheeler.
Looks like plenty of room for lots of different motors and esc's when running shorty packs. A tekin hd 4300 will be a little heavier with an insane amount of torque. If you're just having fun, try it and see if it works.
The traction along with big motors caused most other cars to break at some point at the Worlds (but the D413 held up fine). Installing a Tekin hd 4300, and putting it in the hands of someone other than Ty seems like it would be good durability testing

i'll probably just put the 6.5 from my current wheeler in, but i'd love to mess with a 5100kv tekin pro-2. i can't imagine those are selling very well, so i'm hoping for a price drop (or a used one).
