syndr0me, regarding the spool... you really only need the pads. you can remove the diff balls from your current pulley and add the spool pads. it looks like they are only sold with the pulleys though. if you go that route, vs. drilling out the center of an old pulley, be careful as they are made of a thin and brittle material. even if they crack though it's fine, they can still be used just fine.

Well spent all of friday and most of saturday building the car up. must say was impressed with the way the car went together. Will post a bit of the electric install when i get a chance
Ran it for the first time today, went out on kit setup (rubber) to start with then, moved the rear shocks out and put high roll centre on the front and the car felt soooo nice, so first outing out after 20 mins of running, put it 10th in the A, at what was basically a national level final, and managed to finish 6th overall.
Vey impressed so far and was definatly worth the wait
Any one requires setup just email me

As for the spools ...are they best on carpet or can you add them if you are going to run on asphalt ....I 'am going to be running carpet mostly so would this be a good idea

Hi guys, just got back home from the cotswold track, i ran the new car for the first time there today. i used a lipo for a few practice laps and it felt very good, just the back end a little loose, the track was very dusty though.
Back to the normal 5 cell for racing though, still very good, it is show good promise of things to come. Till in the second round someone decided to smash the front left side off of the car, wish bone, diff out drive and spool. Do'h
So back to the old car for a while then.
Lets hope Helger ( Uk importer ) have got the bits in already

I have been using lighter fluid, but it seems like it does not clean the tires off enough. I hate to bug you about this but what is your tire method of prepping using alcohol?

Are you guys spraying motor spray directly on the tires or are you spraying it on a rag and wiping the tires off?

Denatured alcohol can be purchased by the quart from Home Depot or Lowes. I pour it into a cheap spray bottle (also from Home Depot) and use it to clean everything from gummy tires, to white scuffed wheels, to bodies before they are painted. Works great on just about everything and doesn't harm plastics.
We had the foam tire issue last winter in 12th scale, and found that one compound harder in tires helped, as well as not using Paragon on the tires for more than the time it takes to apply them to all of the tires and wipe them off. The problem isn't your car or tires, it's the carpet on the track, and the amount of compound and rubber in it.
I also had good luck using Goop/GoJo hand cleaner on the tires, just to open the pores and soften them up. They didn't get as sticky and messy as the Paragon made them.
And I found that lighter fluid works the best to clean that gummy mess off without drying out the tires.
