Assembling the kit. Beautiful Machine work!!!

Two speed assembly:
So, when assembling the 2nd Spur gear to the Aluminum housing, Im having problems with the plastic gear seating into the screw openings. The plastic gear has those raised flange pieces where the screws enter. These seem to deform when I attempt to press the gear onto the housing, and wont lay flush.

How do you all address this issue?

Also the kit bag including the balance tensioner belt kit was missing a backing recessed nut. Who do I get replacements from? Serpent America?

Thanks

Hi Jason,

Yes, very beautiful piece of machine!

I havent had the same problem with my car, but I checked the parts and saw what you described... I tried different positions and then it worked... You could cut a little bit of the raised plastic inserts just to make it easier...

The missing part I can help you with, I got two stores rc-netshop dk and Kangaroo Company (Ebay store) and got almost every Capricorn product on stock... rc-netshop dk is down at the moment it will be renovated in the near future... We ship world wide and can ship by Fedex International Priority around 27USD for spares to the States or as normal letter around 5USD to the States....

You can also just send me an email at nikolaj(at)rc-netshop.dk or at sales(at)rc-netshop.dk and somebody will help you out....

Hope this helped you a bit..

Happy Easter hopefully with a lot of racing

Is the new optional sway bar a must have? What are the benefits?

I was just going to ask the same question .... great minds.
It looks very good but not sure its a "must have" option.

Am I right in saying Joliet is your home track, or do I have the wrong guy?

Hey guys,

The wire bar gives you more mid corner steering. It does make the car a little more lazy than the standard. For Juliet I think it could be worth a try. Of course this is just based on photo's of the track, I have never been there.

I thought I saw on this thread somewhere you said that .... for what its worth I guess Joliet is my "home" track too. Although it is 2.5hrs away!!

More that its the closest rather then my home track.

Are there many there running the Capricorn at Joliet Pat?

I'm 30 minutes from the Joliet track. No Caps. at Joliet's track-Joliet is Xray country. Im gonna switch back to my Capricorn. The fastest car at the Byrons race last year was a capricorn driven by Vince jackson. His car was .4seconds a lap faster then Paul Lemieux's NT1. it handled like nothing i've seen, It was scary fast. Paul beat him anyway by being more consistant.

Not to barge in... but LMK when you guys are gonna be at LH. Last year seemed like the turnouts were amazingly low. I raced the MWS, but passed on the Byrons race. Regretted it big time. I know the el. guys are gonna have good turnouts. Menace, last time I seen you was about 4 years ago, pitting outside the south fence! Happy Easter! Nick A
