The "search engine" works pretty well.

How much money do you want to spend? Do you have a starter box? (or are you planning to get one?)

$150: 2 engines I would consider-

Werks B3 and Novarossi BF21 Limited. Both are good, the Werks is maybe a bit easier to tune.

Want a little more power? $200:

Werks B5 or Alpha.

The new Alpha engines- any of the 3, but the least expensive ($199) would probably ALSO be the easiest to drive. The other 2 are only $209, so they're close.
You can order those from www.rcproproducts.com

$250:

There are too many good engines in that price range to list... but as a beginning driver, most of them wouldn't make a very good choice. Too much power is just as bad as not enough.

+1 and if you want a smoking deal on a modded nova BF check out Mark at http://powerhousercperformance.com/ he has them at great prices and they are modded to all the extra power and runtime. I like Mark's engines.
Here is his RCTech thread, check it out http://www.rctech.net/forum/nitro-of...fuel-q-51.html

i have seen alot of people not having very good luck with the RB concepts engines but there are alot that love them, im thinking of getting the hobby 9 myself. but i would go with an werks b5 or a jammin jpx 21, i havent ran the werks engine but i hear nothing but good things about it but i have ran the jammin engine and i love that engine it has tons of power so it might not be a good engine to start racing with.

The only rb concepts engine i've seen give problems is the c 6 . All others have been good. I had a c 6 & it just never seemed to hold a tune well. If the outside temp. changed just a few degrees it would need to be re-tuned. I actually saw 2 guys get so frustrated w/ there c 6's they just picked up the car pinned the throttle , blew the engine & threw it in the trash. But i have seen lots of ws 7's run really good & last a long time. Haven't seen any of the new gen. rb engines so can't comment on those. Domit made some good suggestions . There are so many engines out there it can get confusing , just search through the threads here & pick what you like. Good luck !

the c-6 is a better motor than the ws ask rb(at least the last modle was) go with the winners rb or nova, the nova p5xlt at amain is 254.00 u can get a discount of 25.bucks if u are a past custumer,if not call them,u will also get free shipping. this motor is far better than any that have been mentioned
