Tamiya F104 Version 2

finally broke down for the savox low profile servo and im having a hard tine fitting it. It almost seems as if the holes that were drilled in the chassis for the front legs of the servo arm are too far in? The screws to bolt the servo arms go in at an angle instead straight up.
Also what spur in 48 or 64 pitch are you guys running with the stock diff ball or some different? I put the stock 93t spur that came with it and a 38 64 pitch pinion and they seem to mesh fine? That put me at 2.4fdr is this right or wrong?

It fit's ok, but only with thin servo tape
At most of the tracks in the UF1 series we gear 93x31-35
That's with 21.5 Blinky
3mm Ceramic diff balls are the only thing I add to the stock diff assy

Correct the current hitec servo i cut off the ears off, this savox is a bit narrow and it wont fit that's without even the tape. This time im using the servo facing up instead of facing forwad like the manual calls.

If the Savox is too narrow that is an easy fix. My Spektrum servo was a bit narrow as well so I just glued on a couple strips of Lexan with Shoe Goo to make the servo wider. I then glued the servo in on my F1R with Shoe Goo as well. The trick is to use something to make the servo wider then use servo tape or Shoe Goo to hold it in place.

I bolted a Savox 1250mg servo in my 104V2 horizontally using the optional skinny mount in the parts bag, didn't even have to cut the ears off and it fits snug using only one layer of the kit servo tape.

What side springs do you guys who run carpet like to use. I think I ran a different set every run at IIC (Tamiya and AE), and never did find a pair I liked. To be honest I was breaking the cardinal rule and making 2-3 changes each time so I was probably shooting myself in the foot.
Thanks for any input.
