It is bushed but they will break at high RPM's. The motor is extremely tight when new and this really does a number on a rod so I would replace it after break in and maybe one race. After that it should be good if you keep the RPM's down on it. It makes a great motor for short and slick tracks but if you run somewhere like 301 with that super long straight I would go with a Nova based motor just for the superior rod strength. If you can find the motor Nova sold as the mule motor in their 2 motor set it would be a great budget motor. I would also check out the Picco's. The P7's and P9's make great power and seem to be pretty reliable.

torque
muscle get off the corners so fast you dont no what happened! we dont need 600. 00 dollar motors to get around the civic center its needs torque its the smallest track on the circuit.should i define torque. massive rotating mass like a three wheeler hiting the wall and nobody was killed yet cheers you guys

I'm backward in that regard. A small track like Ft. Meyers I like a motor with monster top end. Why? Because on a track that short I can run a very low gear and keep the motor wound up all the time. Now on a long track like 301 I need a torque motor. You have to run such a high gear to keep from over revving the motor and throwing a rod that you need all the bottom end grunt you can get through the infield.

Well I got my mrx4x down on the track at 301 for the first time yesterday and am very pleased. The car was handling great and I feel alot more confident since switching from the rs4.Right now I am running the ho767 clutch spring that came in the kit.I am running a clutch gap of .40 and spring tension of .800.I could use a slightly later engaging clutch.I was told to try out the msr1001 clutch spring. How should I set the clutch up with this spring?I am running the yellow shoe. What is everyone else running? Also I am looking at getting the capricorn clutch and trying it out.Is anyone running it and what are your thoughts? Thanks

With the silver spring go with .5 endgap and 1.1 on the spring.

Spring rates
@chicky03
Any news on the Mugen spring rates? The old blue/yellow/black discussion about which one is heavier?
Thanks,
Stefan

Grey Rear: 33.3
White Rear: 40.7
Grey Front: 42.2
Red Rear: 46.6
Pink Rear 49.8
White Front:51.7
Yellow Front 53.9
Black front 67.5
An option if you need more steering is to run the red or pink rear springs on the front. Sometimes softer springs give less steering because the car dumps over too much but it's something to try.
