Question - what is the best wing (body) set for thenF104? Long time McLaren fan, but if the Ferrari wing set is better I will use it. What wings come with the kit?
Thanks for the help guys.

Last thursday i've tested the re-branded pit shimizu to tamiya tires on my F104 PRO with X1 upperdeck/rolldamper and all i can say is WOW.
But would the version II be faster with this tire combination?

This is the VII kit
Some say the McLaren rotates a tiny bit more than the Ferrari, both work well imo
imo, the VII has more setting options for tuners that know how to get the most out of it, where as with the X1 you are always limited by a piece of flexing fibreglass, that will never be as consistent as dampers/springs
Both cars work well, though the X1 is easier to build, and slightly more durable depending on the t-bar you use

[IMG]An X1 took the win at TCS Finals last week, narrowly edging out a VII

I guess i'll need to find out for myself if the car is worth the money.

Having helped quite a few racers with the VII & the X1
Coming from 12th scale the VII seems so much more tunable, and more of an outright racer compared to the X1
Both are close on pace, there is not a massive difference, other than the VII staying more consistent from track to track, and throughout the day as track conditions vary
Even on carpet my WGP (X1 variant) is never the same car from run to run, but I find the VII to be solid every time it hits the track

That's what i also noticed with my X1 converted to a W version.
I do prefer to drive a F104 over a W version, cause it's more consistent although i have the feeling that the W version is a bit faster.

From your picture i can see that you have set the front camber plate at 2.5°, am i correct?
Isn't that to much camber, and do you run this set-up with the TCS or pit tires?

They are very close on pace
My bud Steve Jackson (F1R) and I are always battling it out at TQRC
The VII narrow link setup does hide things better inside the body for a scale look, aside from that, not much in it either way
Exotec makes beautiful stuff, but if you ever want to run TCS, you have to go all Tamiya

Cool thanks. I've already got a fully decked out F1R. Trying to justify buying another F1 to build. I better hold off for now though after just buying a new TC.
Is everyone at TQ running the wide track kits to go 190mm? We set up our F1 class just before the FGX came out and we copied the UF1 rules. Shortly after UF1 changed to allow the FGX to run but we never changed ours as everyone local had just bought their cars. We are thinking of changing ours to allow the 190mm though so that we are in line with everyone else.

Haven't felt the need to go more than 183 so far
imo the geometry is not correct by adding width purely on the front axle, wider front a-arms would be the correct way to go about it
