Default Trinity Nemesis 17.5 short course

Does anyone have one of these yet, I am thinking of purchasing it. I just got a tekin RS esc and am looking at 17.5 motors. I am also looking at the lrp vector x-12 17.5 and the novak ballastic, do all these have adjustable timing? I am leaning toward the Trinity Nemesis short course.

I have one in my USC. It's smooth and has plenty of rip. Timing is adjustable.

No kidding! It doesn't say anything.

And it has the newly redesign solder tabs, no more holes.

does anyone do comparison tests head to head, we need a consumer reports whats new in rc special. Seems like rc car action is just a whoever pays for advertising love fest. They rarely say anything bad about anything!

How does it compare to say the Tekin 17.5 that is what the competition at my track is running?

I've been around for 20+ years and nothing has changed...Reviews are glorified adds. Mags only tell you what's the latest and greatest, but even then with the web we find out what's new before the mag is in the mail box.
Reviews are a joke, always have been and always will be $$$$. Based on mag. reviews I should be able to win the Nats. in Mod truck with an Evader or a Rustler....Pretty sure that won't happen...

I tried a 17.5 nemesis in a T4, felt that the bottom did not have as much torque as others. I am running a Duo 2, much more bottom end pull and rips on the top end

my two cents

I've run both and the Duo2 has more torque...which is big with a 17.5 class IMO.....Wasn't happy with my Nemisis in my TC or my oval car...it's gone....

I had a nemesis 17.5 also and sold it. I would stay away from it and get the Duo2 instead

Ok so the regular nemesis lacks torque but their short course specific one has a different model number and claims it is designed for short course racing and has increased torque.

I also like the look of the lrp but not sure bout it, I have read it runs hotter.

Yep they do. I run a LRP X-11 10.5 in Short Course Truck and it runs a consistent 150 to 170. BUT, it still seems to run strong with no fade. Talking to some of the team drivers the newer X-12's also do the same.

I don't know why but my 17.5 Nemesis out pulled my buddy's 17.5 Duo 2 and we are geared identical and have or ESCs set up the same. Only real difference is that I'm using three year old CORE 3250mah packs that are 15-20C and he's using the newer Losi 2S 4000mah 30C packs.

Must be a fluke!

I ran an Epic Intense this weekend in my SC10, totally different beast than the Reedy Radon 17T. It's got more punch and more top end. I also adjusted the timing 20 degrees. It's a good inexpensive rebuildable motor.
