Run a heavy pack on loose outdoor dirt tracks to generate more grip, run a light battery on carpet to reduce grip.
You want to slow the reaction on high grip!

Problem with running low weight is keeping the nose down. So you'd mount the shorty up front, then you end up generating too much front end!

Saddles with no weight added seems to be the best setup for me so far. Have added up to 70g under the lipo, but took it out, as the car felt a little sluggish. With a shorty I found the car to be too light and unstable.

From my understanding the wide holders free up the car a little meaning less rear traction.

Track width, and roll center. Search this thread for more info, it's been discussed quite a bit. Hopefully we can take over post#1 on the thread so we can put all basic info in one place to have an easy place to guide repeat questions to.

In short, a wider track raises roll center, hindering roll, and therefor hinders traction gain on that end of the car. Narrower track has opposite affect.

Guys, a while back I had provided some stats of springs I've done. I got an RB5WC that comes w/ "kit" xgear springs in pink front and red rear. I tested them as there was confusion if the rates were the same. What I found was the pink kit fronts (3.053 lb/in) were signifgantly softer than my non kit xgear pink fronts (3.272 lb/in). Now for the red rears I do not have a non kit xgear to test but I do have a yellow xgear. See the attached document.

FYI the springs that came on the RB5 WC weren't xgear springs, nor did they have colors.

Ok, I'm unsure what they are then. They have the same coating/coloring as my xgear. Did the RB6 come w/ the xgear then?

yep...

their coating was similar, and unless my memory has started failing (which is likely!), there weren't colors on them. Do I have that wrong? anybody confirm?

RB5 SP2 WC: The kit FR springs had blue markings on them (mine and a few others I saw locally at least), no markings at all on Rr springs. I did feel that the WC's (blue) fronts, felt stiffer than the X-Gear pink springs I had previously. I use them as an option in between the X-Gear Pink & White fronts...

RB6: X-Gear Springs included in kit, Pink FR, Red RR (both have paint dabs on them)

Those sound like run-of-the-mill Xgear springs. A lot of us WC drivers tossed the kit springs and bought new xgears for the car.
