Brian is correct. Normally i run a shim on top of the steering block. I do this for the same reason as brian trims the bottom of the eyelet. I ream the steering block so that is will slide on the kingpin but with no side slop. The reason i do this is because if you take a good hit and the kingpin shifts in the steering block, It will not be able to return and will give the car a tweaked feel. In theory, the only portion of the kingpin that needs to slide on the kingpin is the area through the lower arm. Unfortunately the AE design makes it so it needs to slide through the block,and both the upper and lower arm. I am working on an aftermarket kingpin and upper ball that will make things a whole lot easier. 
I had a BMI chassis on my '04 XRay as well as my T2. Excellent, excellent quality products. After doing all the homework on 1/12 scales, I decided to go with the DB12R. I'm building it now and have reached the point referenced above. Please keep us posted on any aftermarket kingpins and upper balls.

Thanks for the fast turn around I got the car last tuesday afternoon and raced it for the first time on Saturday in a carpet series race at NorCal. My pit area was full of people that wanted to see the new DB12R. I'm just starting back to racing but went faster with every heat. If you need a West Coast distributer I may be your man!

Hey guys,
I want to see what your thoughts are on what i am looking into. I will be testing out the highest quality, most free spinning bearing that you can possibly buy. They are ceramic bearings that you need to run dry with no oil due to the drylube impregnation process they go through. The problem i am facing is the price. They are EXTREMELY expensive but they are the most free spinning bearings money can buy. The areas where they will be used is in the rear axle ride height adjusters(2 bearings) and the front wheels(4 bearings). I have not recieved an accurate quote but i was told they will sell in the range of 22-23 dollars each.
Is there a market for this or should i just let it go? I am all about performance but i want to see where you guys draw the line. The drylube will outlast the bearings from what i have been told by the manufacturer and they are to be cleaned with an airhose. They run bone dry so no dirt and grime gets imbedded. Please let me know your thought so that i know if this is something you would be interested in
