The original TCX cups were the short ones, the kit came with 46mm drive shafts.
There was a shortage of 46mm shafts and the 44mm ones were too short to fit the spool cups.
In the end HB brought out the long cups (68769) so people could use 44mm shafts in the front.
The upshot is that the long cup works with both length shafts and the short cup has to be used with 46mm shafts.

If you mean why can't you use the TCXX cup, it's because the drive pin is a different diameter.

The mounts are the same, and they are spaced the same, so I'd have to assume that they will fit both cars.

Yes, you can use, but it needs, the TCX center shaft #68727.

Thanks AGNO for the info!

I tried to use the Spec R's C.V. Universal Swing Shaft Version 2(For Tamiya TRF416/417) 44mm thinking it would fit but knuckle hits the C Hub when you turn it left or right, would getting the Spec R's C.V. Universal Swing Shaft (For Hot Bodies TCX)Version 2 46mm fix the problem?

thanks guys for your time..

No problem in the use of double joints Spec-r 46mm, remember for to use the shafts Spec-R, require the Spool cap TCX #61087, #68770 or #68769.

Fred,
Do you have an option parts list yet? I dont see one on the sites.

I got the Tamiya rear hubs mounted and it did require shorter ball studs or drilling out the plastic so it wouldnt hit the pin retainer. Do you mind telling us the advantage of these?

Does any one have a source for the 6 hole pistons? Or even 3 hole, I will drill out the other 3 holes if needed...

Thanks again AGNO!

I ordered the #61087 so the Spec R's C.V. Universal Swing Shaft (For Hot Bodies TCX)Version 2 46mm should be right to use now!

Thanks Todd, it was a good result but I'm a bit of an overachiever and didn't quite measure up to my own standards
