Default s411

Hi guys,

I assembled my S411 kit and took it for its maiden run today. Rear was a little loose as mentioned by others here. But a little droop in the front fixed that.

When removing the front top bulkhead screw, it hits with the bottom shock tower screw, making it impossible to remove the top bulkhead without disassembling the shock tower

Have any of you encountered this issue?

Here is a picture for better explanation:

Thanks

You don't have to remove the tower for this. Just remove the other two screws as normal. Then you can undo the remaining two screws that are shielded by the shock tower screws a bit at a time until the upper bulkheads can be removed. It's really not any hassle at all and also means that you can't lose the screws!

Actually I don't even bother putting the lower tower screws in, just the top two and you don't have the problem. The alternative is mentioned above.

Got a few runs in today and have the car running much more how I like it feel wise. The track conditions were quite poor with on/off rain and old tyres but generally it went around good considering. I ran.....

Trying dual geardiffs today. 3000wt in the rear w/ OFNA Diff-lock (feels a tick stiffer than the 600K stuff I have) in the front. We'll see how it goes.....

Default CSO Chassis

I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it... I got one of these over the weekend from a HK shop and there is good reason why it is so cheap.

The structure looks different to most normal chassis. This is quote obvious where material is removed in cross section (ie motor cutout, countersinks). It's hard to tell but I'm pretty certain not all of it is carbon fiber...

So I would approach this chassis with caution. Especially if your expectation is for a chassis that is 100% carbon.

Hey guys here's a snapshot of my setup. The dual geardiff setup worked quite well today. The car got better than last week but too many mistakes kept me out of 'the money placings'. Let a fellow wheel drive the car and he came to the same conclusion........a bit more steering would be nice

Can ya help guys?

JayB,

I have a good amount of steering in my "AWESOMENESS" Serpent.

I am still running the spool up front as I don't yet own a second gear diff. One difference in our cars is I am running my rears arms almost all the way to the back, I have a 1mm shim behind the rear arm and all the rest of the shims in the front. I also moved my front arms back to the steering linkage, I think there is also a 1mm shim behind the front arm with all the rest of the shims in the front.

I am doing the Sizzler but will most likely not get there until Saturday.

I'm witcha there Steve-O. I won't be arriving until Saturday as well. I will try what you have on yours and see if that is the ticket. Still trying to figure out the slop up front but it doesn't seem to affect the drivability though but I need to tighten it up though to see. Can't wait buddy. What motor are you running? Gotta try and slither one of these snakes to a podium

BUT YOU BETTER RUN!!!!!

My car is really good at Fasttrax in the fast sweepers and really good in the tight twisty's too. Yesterday I got inside of a couple of guys in the slow twisty section were no one else seemed able too, so I was pleased. I'll send you a PM later tomorrow at some point JB.
