I'm about halfway done building the car... and I think it's a nice improvement from the TC3 racer I built a few months ago.

Indeed, the transmission is much more free out of the box than the TC3 was, which was great.

Built tips (from a novice :

- I felt I had to "take the edge off" that little hole in the chassis that provides access to the servo saver tensioning bolt to get completely free steering arm movement.

- The rubber bearing *are* pretty packed with grease... and move much more freely after removing it and replacing with bearing oil. I also left several of the rubber bearing seals off of most of the sides of bearings that were not likely to be exposed to dirt. Without having been broken in, the drivetrain moves about as freely as my broken-in TC3.

I called associated last week to see if the old TC3 caster blocks will work on the new car. They firmly said NO! I somehow didn't believe this so I got a set of 4 degree TC3 caster blocks and put them on my car. I have to say I think they work! There appears to be no rubbing or grinding and the dimensions are the same. My question is, Why did associated tell me the old blocks wouldn't work? and is there a chance I'm missing something and the blocks really don't work on the new car?

Allso, even with the old caster blocks and pollished hingepins my suspension seems to be binding. How do you solve this? is there a way to polish the hinge pin mounts?

well the only thing to find out is test it out . which one feels better the tc4 tc3 or no difference.

The Factory Team turnbuckles are all ready out... i used them when i built my car...

letitroll: Not sure who you talked to, but the caster blocks will fit from the TC3 to the TC4.

Ti Turnbuckles: A kit should be out already, but you can adapt your TC3 ones to fit the TC4.

Tony, thanks for clearing that up for all of us. That is one of the things I was wondering, as well.

Do you know when front arms will be available? That is one of the few things shops seem not to have. Being that front arms are one of the most likely parts to break in a crash (for any car), I would think you guys at AE would want to get those out quick.

FT parts look sweet, how would you rate those hard ano'd shock bodies vs. the blue besides the bling factor?

Arms should be available now. Not sure why they aren't at your LHS. Might check with them. 9 times out of 10 is the LHS hasn't ordered them....not that we don't have them in stock.

Shocks. Blue anodized work great. Most of us have moved to the hard anodized because it wears better....the blue anodize is for looks.

I figured that was the reason for going to the hard ones. Although I'd have to say I think they look just as good if not better than the blue, IMO. I know the blue ones are smooth, I've built them many times.

the shock fit? I was saying there are much better shocks on the market. In terms of "Better' well, that's up to the individual. For me, it's easy building, smooth, and longer performace.

are the TC3 caster blocks exactly the same as the TC4? If not, what are the differences? I have not got a chance to pull out the caliper.

arms. There may not enough material around the outer hole. I'm still waiting for replacements arms from my Hobby store.
