I've tried running a few different kinds of rear weights, the brass rear suspension block and also the 50 gram bolt on. Mostly it just makes the rear end swing around like a pendulum. That being said If I was to add weight to the car, I would place it in between the wheels. Or inside the wheelbase as they say. I like using brass battery blocks for this as it keeps it really close to CG but gives you a bit of bias in the front or back. You can make them easily with a dremel tool or buy the aftermarket versions.

As Dino D said….Chances are you will have much greater success by working on your setup to improve your rear traction. Have you read through the Fred Swain tune with Camber links thread yet? It's probably one of the best tuning methods I've seen to date and Fred is there still answering questions after 3 years. Having a balanced car with the right tires makes all the difference in the world.

Let us know what your setup is like and we'll try to help!

another thing i noticed was that the early prototype dex210's used b4 a-arms
Anyone?

May I ask why you want to do this? Durango will have two sets of arms for the DEX210 once the V2 arms are available…(maybe they are now). What don't you like about the stock arms?

Thanks!

i was wondering because AE arms are easily available. If i broke my durango ones and had no spares i could easily find a set for the b4 and my track, i would have to order ones for my durango. I might just have to buy a set of b4 arms and try it out.

They are not a direct bolt on, the B4 uses smaller inner pins, so using them requires some work..

B4 arms would have to be modified to fit. The hinge pin holes would have to be enlarged a little. The Durango arm mount would have to be shaved to let the arms fit. The B4 arms are also much weaker.

This may not be useful to many but to some with gear diffs, instead of using the plastic diff gears to lighten things up, just use one less set of spider-gears and one less cross-shaft. Or of course go with a ball diff. I like my gears though :-) I saw no difference in grip with the same weight oil going to a two spider-gear setup. Maybe the diff will wear quicker? Wouldn't know from how well it drove today. Oh yes, i did, I FINALLY got it on the track. Great way to spend a Saturday when the Durango is working as it should. :-)

Even with all 4 gears the gear diff is lighter than the ball diff

Who's running bladders in their durango shocks and who's not? Taking a poll here?

Please do share why if you don't mind
