I'm having trouble picking a steering servo. I'm leaning toward the Savox 2273SG. My question is will I have brown outs with it? I'm going to be running the futaba 4pk for my radio and the tekin motor and esc. I think I have to switch the bec on the esc to 7.4v. If I do that will I still get a brownout? Should I also get a glitch buster for peace of mind?
Thanks

Not heard any complaints from brown outs with anything other than Spektrum's older gear. Not experienced a glitch with any of my receivers running on 2.4GHZ. The old days with brushed motors, another story entirely. I wouldn't worry about it, build the setup and deal with any troubles if you experience glitches. The 4PK is a very good radio and not likely to experience any troubles with it in your buggy.
Everyone is going to suggest what ever brand they are currently having good experience with when talking electronics. For me, I have had good luck with Airtronics and Futaba servos, just pricey and I do not think they perform as well in their given price points against brands like Savox, Protek and my current favorite, MKS. MKS is right up there with the top of the line Airtronics and Futaba servos, I just like their build quality better on the MKS, about the best I have seen but they are pricey.

Although I have not experienced it directly, I have read on many other threads that people have a lot of brown out issues with Savox. Apparently they are power hungry. I have also heard of issues with Spektrum equipment. I do have Spectrum and I have never had one glitch, so I would say that it is not universal. I have run Spektrum and ProTek servos (all with RX8 ESC) and have had no issues at all.
Others have said adding a glitch buster cap will help with the brown outs.

Thanks for the comments. I think that's the servo I will get.

Yeah, depending on the battery I'm charging. My charger maxes out at 10 amps (regardless of overall wattage) so my 7200's aren't getting 14 amps. But my 4400 shorties I charge at 10 amps. My 2200 shorty 4s packs I charge at 5 amps.
At a big race when I forgot to charge my battery I used my friends setup to charge my 6500 4s packs at 40 amps, so they can handle it.

I bought the new .3 hinge pin holders as well as the .3 upgrade kit from fierce rc last week. I went to start installing and when i pit the front together i noticed alot of front to back slop in the arms. Seems like the hing pin holders are not getting tight enough on the arm. Looks like i may have to shim these. Has anyone else had this issue upgrading there .2 to a .3?
