Sucks when your first carpet race is this weekend and cant even shake the car down. Not that I plan to buy one but, I have seen 2 local racers opt for the TOP photon due to TC6 being unavailable. And the TOP is so easy to work on. But what do I know about marketability, supply and demand.

I was hoping to use the TC6 for the Australian Nationals but ah well, my TC5 is setup very well for low bite asphalt/rubber racing.

Really?
I hope no one races a TCX against you. My lap times went up 2 seconds when a went from a TC5 R to the TCX.
I used to be 4th or 5 th now I am first or second. IMO the TCX is a much better handling car than the TC 5.
I just sold all my old TC5 stuff. In the future I will go Hot Bodies or Tamiya.
The Tc 6 is not for me.

Really? Is it really the car? or the driver? Come on man let's get real. Buying a TCX or any car for that matter does not guarantee you victory.

+1.....Even though the 5 is a good car never the less it was always classed as a little twitchy, lively to drive here in the UK....Ive seen the 6 in action quite a few time and trust me it aint no 5 at all, its super smooth even on one of our notriously low grip technical tracks

From what I saw of the TCX it seemed to have trouble finding its feet for a few meets but the TC6 hit the ground running, fast from day one!!and thats hard to argue against.

Put it this way its perfomance has dragged a few very good drivers away from well know trusted chassis for next year!!

I love it when people sprout numbers like 2 seconds a lap. Man if you gained 2 second every lap you must have been REALLY slow before, and i doubt the different design is the deciding factor.
More likely you have a car thats not all bent out of shape, has a decent kit setup on it, and isnt falling apart with stripped screws everywhere.

I'de be bloody happy finding 0.2 sec a lap "consistantly"..its 4 sec over 20 laps that can mean a jump of at least 6 places in pro stock...2 sec a lap makes me world championship standard in mod LMAO

I think to be fair. I would presume that the lap times would go down and by 0.2 of a second. So the post would have be written wrong. to jump from 4/5 to 1/2 by picking up 2 seconds a lap also raises questions about the other racers also.

It is possible for this to happen with a new car, everyones driving style is different and some cars suit some people others don't. I expect that it is also something to do with the cars setup window. some cars, like the xray have broad setup window where the car can still be easy to drive if the setup isn't 100%, other cars are horrible to drive with if the setup isn't spot on.

No is one is using the TCX in 17.5 here, a Xray T3 has the lap recored of 21.3 seconds my PB is 21.9 so a TCX only has about .6 seconds to be faster then me
I'm also the only driver at my track that uses AE in 17.5 with the only other AE car being in 10.5
