I updated 4 new ones (including my own) last week, and only one came with 4.4. Unfortunately, the only way I can think of to test if it's got 4.2 on it is to run an X12 and see if it catches on fire.

Mr. Chair,

Sean has the update cable so if you can make it to the Hangar on Wednesday or at least if your speedo can, I would think he could get it updated and sent back for you.

Default settings

Hi all..
Tried 4.4 today..
Track temp. 42deg C..
17.5 exspress Duo2..0 timing
2.10.12.1..5.63fdr...Motor temp after 5mins..80deg C...Too hot, was fast..no fade..heaps better than 4.2 though.
Nice power delivery..excellant brakes...
2.10.10.1,,was too slow..at 68deg C..
2.8.10.1...not punchy enough 60-70 deg C.
any thoughts?
I was thinking of 2.10.9.1,,5.5ish with a touch of motor timing????????

80deg C isn't too hot. I was racing Epic duo 2 at 95deg C and no problems!!!

In South Australia were we race..It gets very hot quickly..The morning starts at about 20 deg C, the track surface temp is usually 10-15 deg C hotter.
Yesterday for example..The air temp was 26 deg C, the track was 41deg C..So we do have to be very carefull as the motors get very hot, very quickly..I/we try and keep our motors@ about 60-70 deg C MAX..
I found that the duo2 fadded when its hot...
Hence my question about esc settings...

I tried this ESC on Saturday with the following (Large track):
X-12 17.5
0-3-10-3
6.1 FDR

I was rather impressed with the performance and the feel. I definitely had no issues keeping up with Tekins, and less fade than I ever experienced running a Tekin with the LRP motor.

All units opened locally have included the 4.4 software - there should be plenty up-to-date units in circulation now.

I was using the 4-dot timing insert - I believe this represents -10 degrees.

Hey guys tekin just died on me and was looking for a switch. I ran the spx when it first came out and i liked the feel of it. But looking at speedtech and things there are like 4 different models of the sxx? sxx, sxx v2, mk3 sxx? sxx stock spec? im assuming the stock spec v2 is the one i should get. At my local track we run boost but i also want a speedo that has blinky so i can run no boost. Does this one compare to the tekin with the boost for a 17.5 class ? Thanks Guys
