Tamiya TB Evolution V

The price of the parts are about 25 Euros wich are aprox. 30-35 USD.
First of all i made it because of the look of it. If there is also a improvement of the laptimes, i can say after the next WE. Then i race it on a race here in Austria.

Almost forgot where can I find a spool, if one exist. Does the TB03 spool fit (54125)? Where can I get one?

Yes, actually the TB-03/EVO V/EVO V MS spool are all the same part number. The drive train is almost indentical between the three models with only the spur gear holder being the different part. I would actually recommend building a slipper spool since it will give during a hit (basically a diff that is uber tight with slipper pads...someone posted a parts listed so just do a search). The outdrive on the spool are some sort of hardend steel and will sheer off the pins of the drive shaft during a hard impact.

I run a Evo4 spool in my Evo5.
The only issue i had is that the mesh of the gear was a little to tight. So i sanded the area where the Gear is mounted on. Dont know how much, but i think about 3-4 tens mm.
Then it was a perfect fit, and it workes very fine.
I also use the whit 415 MRE outdrives with the sleeves on, because they last much longer, and are more reliable.
I have never seen the orpginal TB03 spool, so i cant make a direct compare of them.

Just purchased a EVO 5 (first race on-road car). Im wanting to switch to 48p spur, is there a specific spur gear I need to purchase? I was wanting to probably run the Robinson Racing ones as I had good run with them in offroad.
Can someone recommend starting gearing for it with 6.5T Brushless Motor on mid size track?

I did changed to 48 pitch gearing. Just have a caliper ready, make sure the spur is smaller than the 64 pitch 96T spur. You need to do some adjustment but you may need to sand the upper deck abit.

With 48 pitch spurs pinion... I need NOT to to replace both of them sooner. Can have much longer fun....hehe.

Hey Evo 5 Guys; I thought only the Evo 5 MS had it go`in on lately. . . . .I`m glad to see there are still people talking about the Evo 5.
There`s not much to say. My Evo 5 has NO problems. I just installed a Orion Brushless System - 10.5 and it runs really well....(the track I run on is Really Smooth).
-I didn`t get the Spool; I just run a Tight Front Diff.....(The $27.00 Spool will replace a $110.00 Diff. I`m not throwing money away; the Diff works WELL)
Merry Christmas!

I run the hell out of mine. I find its better than my 416 in 17.5. Both cars are nearly two years old now. I just got back into racing after a bit of a break. Both are competitive, but I do better with EVO V.
Waiting on getting an additional newer speeder to have better match instead of switching back and forth a borrowed speeder. Right now I have sphere, and borrowing a sxx tc. Hopefully a sxx stock spec or an Orca
See my EVO set up here if you want. I have the 416 uprights and ft knuckles, but rest is all EVO V.
