Default fuel mileage help

I'm running a NR Toro Nero with 30% nitro, medium plug(McCoy), and a JP-3 in a D8. It runs beautiful and handles great. Trouble is I'm having trouble making a 7 min run. Will switching to 20% make a big difference. Any other suggestions?

JP-3 is a fuel hog. Good pipe to get a tune with it, but it has poor economy. I suggest running a different pipe and you'll be surprised. In my Go 3-port I was having trouble with 6-7 minutes as well; when I put a Dynamite 007HT on and re-tuned I gained 2-3 minutes.

the pipe is probably your problem.for a cheap pipe try the ae 2035.i got 10 minutes and about a 1/4 tank of fuel left in my truggy.i am not a fuel mileage minded driver either.temps were around 230.

Yup try different pipe, go smaller on the carb insert and try to be smooth on the throttle.

Thanks a lot. Ordered the 053. I'll see how it does next race.

I'm having the same problem as well although it could just be because the engine is pretty new. I ran my first races on Saturday and was barely able to make it through the 6 min. As a matter of fact, it ran out just as I finished my last lap on my second race. I am running a tuned GRP .21 and a Dynamite 053 pipe.

Mo,

did you pit at 10 minutes also? Did it have enough bottom or just controllable. Give me some info as I am trying to find an alternative to the Nova pipes.

thirsty, jp-4 is not that bad. but the RE11 gets my vote. I get close to 11 min on a v-spec.

Go to a 6.5mm restrictor and try the Trinity Big Boy pipe. That really helps with fuel mileage. I am getting 12+ with my Murnan Modified +4.

Same here...RE-11 is the same specs as the OS 2050 pipe which is no longer made. I can get 10 mins as well depending on the track with the v-spec. Another option is to limit WOT to 50-75% so long as top end is not sacrificed.

I have heard 20% will help, but have not tried it.

rfleck and i race together and he was the first to make the 10min heat with no pit stops. i did give him a hard time about the 4 feet of fuel line in his car, but had to shut up when it teched dead on at 125cc. but both of us can make the 10 minute heats. i use the stock 8mm restrictor and can get full throttel if i need it, i'm not sure what restrictor ron is using
