I got a used car and it needs a new chassis... I guess I will get a losi graphite chassis..

Just get a 4-40 tap and tap the entire chassis and other parts.....stuff goes pretty easy that way.
You can also use the tapping screw losi sells. Doesn't work as well as a tap does, BUT its still better than trying to thread a screw into raw graphite.

While a ballstud would work ok, they are just nromal threads, not special cutting threads like you find on a tap or the tapping screw.
Try KThobbies.com .....pretty good prices on losi stuff.

Going to a different machine shop, as the shop I went to first wants som crazy price....he is paying WAY to much for his titanium.
Luckily, I live in an area where there are tons of machine shops.....

get yourself the conversion kit. just beware, the harware the comes with the rtr xxx-s is pretty crappy and strips easily. Also the screws will be alot harder to drive into the new graphite, so a good set of drivers would help alot, i wish i had my set when i first did the change over.

Does anyone happen to know the part number for the thrust bearing assembly (captured balls in the black harness) that works with the XXX-S?
I had the number the other day but misplaced it and I need to order replacements.
This part works in place the free balls between the washers; instead it has a black harness that has the balls in it.
Thanks in Advance...

If you want to use the best, get the one most of the pro's including hodge, francis, kinwald use.....
Here is the McMaster-Carr part # for the thrust bearing.
7806 K53 miniature steel metric ball bearing for 3mm shaft dia, 8mm OD
They cost about $10 bucks, but it will last a LOT longer and perform better.
