Thanks, I checked the Futaba website and the dimensions for the 9650 looks promising. Also asked the racers here and they also suggested the 9650

The GTB has a large heatsink and I believe it would not allow you to mount the body as low as needed to get the best performance...

A Futaba 9602 might be a good choice also. Not digital but only weighs 1.09oz. and plenty of torque and speed for 1/12 scale.

I don't know where you are shopping, but I see the 9650 for only 5 bucks less than the 9602. They are both good servos, but the 9650 has a plastic gear train and doesn't hold up as well as the 9602.

Just adding weight ot OD's advice - the 9602 is the 'daddy'. I've got two, had both for almost four years, and they never miss a beat. With metal gears you just never worry about them, and they are accurate and quick.

As 12th is sooooo much about the steering accuracy, to make any other choice of Futaba servo type is not worth worrying about the odd $5. There are other makes, but this is the value choice. HTH

For those of you wanting to know about the T-Plate conversion kit, I emailed AE and they told me the part number will be #4685 and should be available in two weeks.

I really wouldn't worry all that much about the 9650. I ran one all last season, and it's still just as precise and solid as ever. If you run the KO Helios and wanna run in AHRS mode you can't use a 9602, because it's not digital.
