plugged it in, got a smell of burning electronics and a wisp of smoke from the speedo. i wasn't aware of doing anything different from how i normally connect it.

although, the speedo was 3-4 years...

davioh - the SSG/purple comments were meant to be seperate. i meant that the general design was similar to the yokomo. i know the purple bits are aluminium!

i tend to run on asphalt/parking lot style surfaces - so i think the silents should be OK.

i seem to remember that most people would run the silent rear and low friction front?...
