One could combat chassis slap by increasing the shock fluid weights. Most often this makes the suspension to stiff, though. It's not bad for the car to bottom out. That's what skid plates are for.

I'm running a 1550kv on 6s for bashing and it's held up so great so far. I haven't read temps over 150F yet. Low kv and higher voltage is so much more efficient than the other way around.
